Brooke,
Tony said you did a lot of experimenting with dual cutouts.
I am running TTS longtubes, 3" ORP with 3" collector, and 4" Mufflex.
I might do dual 3" cutouts and run a quiet exhaust.

I'm not Brooke, but I had dual cutouts on my T/A. It was well worth the time and money, too. I gained 20 RWHP on the dyno by opening them up vs. running out the y-pipe. I nearly fell on the floor when I saw it. With your cubes and an A4, there's no doubt that you'll benefit with dual cutouts.

Trevor, in what location did you install these cutouts?? Directy behind the collector on the headers?

John, I currently have dual cutouts on my FLP Y-pipe. I picked up about 8 rwhp on the same day (dynoed before/after) vs my single 3" cutout that I had. Mine are mounted just behind the place where the offroad sections and catalytics bolt in, just before the Y makes the bend back towards the middle of the car.
FYI, my car made a little more power with open headers (about 4 rwhp) compared to the dual-cutouts, but I cannot drive the car like that so I've never run it that way. These dual cutouts perform about the same as the pair of dumped 2.5" bullets I had on the car at Bowling Green.

I have a few cutout questions, too. First, does the FLP y pipe consist of two 2.5 inch pipes that go into a 3" collector like MAC y pipe does once you do the collector to it or does the FLP y pipe have bigger pipes after each header? I have a dual/dual catback right now and want to install a 3" cutout somewhere just after the collector, is that the best place for a single cutout? Also, I thought somebody determined a while ago that dual cutouts isn't worth it on, for example, a car with Heads/cam/bolt ons. Is that true?
BTW Tony, I e-mailed you a while ago, did you get it?

you've got it; BTW, my y-pipe was a 2.5".
Jorday - Whether a set of dual cutouts will work or not depends on a few things. Tony did some testing w/ dual cutouts on his heads/cam setup, and he lost some bottom-end torque because of it. If you're an A4 with a fat stall, it would be easy to have the converter flash past the point where you have the torque loss. So, dual cutouts could be beneficial on an A4 heads/cam setup. It just depends on how everything is setup.

I run dual 2.5" cutouts, TTS ypipe, and the stock catback. I pick up 33rwhp/40rwtq with the cutouts open.

Sorry for the late reply John, but I don`t roam the boards very often anymore..
No doubt you will pick up some good power with duel cut outs..With your stroker, I would run the 3" duels right off the collectors..I found that you want the exhaust hole on the cut-out to be about 14" back from the header, mac headers..Your long tubes should work fine if they are closer though.. I always ran a 2.5" y pipe after the duel cut outs with a 3.5" collector, then I picked up 8 RWHP with the duel cut outs.. I showed no low end torque loss as Tony did but my converter did flash over above that rpm..
I highly advise you going to duel cut outs with your stroker..That 3" cut out actually is restrictive to a 2.5" y pipe and especially a 3"one..
I ran a quiet SLP exhaust and duel cut outs..Best of both worlds..Quiet on the road but funny car loud at the track
Good luck and I hope to see your 10 second ET soon!
