Default Need an LS6 spring pressure spec

What does a Yellow LS6 spring produce at 1.780" and what is it's coil bind? Has anyone done this firsthand, because I have seen varying information all over the net.

Thanks but none of those pertain to my request...no coil bind, no yellow spring, and no 1.780" pressure. I saw those specifics previously so that is why I posted.

I just checked a set last Wednesday, and wrote down all the pressure. I can't find it though. I do remember that I could have shimmed them .030" with a .560" lift cam and still had .050" to coil bind, but spring pressure only went up a little bit.

I'd recommend just installing them dropped in. If they don't provide enough pressure like that, upgrade to a better spring.

The only went up like 6lbs on the seat or something really low... Sorry I don't have it, and yes these were the yellow springs.

What are you trying to use them for?

I am trying to use them on a set of fastburn heads for a crate motor, see If i can lighten up the valvetrain a tad and at least keep the same seat pressure with it's hyd. roller. Thanks for the bits of info, and let me know if you find the paper!

seat pressure 90lbs @ 1.8" installed height
max lift .570"
open pressure 280 lbs @ 1.25"
coil bind 1.160"

This info is for GM part # 12499224, which is a yellow spring that came in the 04' Z06.
The springs come individually wrapped and are made in Germany. The part number I provided is for a set of 16 springs that run about $54.

And that's .070" from coil bind! If you wanted to run .050" from coil bind you could run up to .590 with the LS6 spring, but the low pressure will become an issue for anything with .590" lift as it will probably have a decently aggressive lobe and want to float and bend valves. Also, a LS6 spring .050" from coil bind is not a pretty sight! I wouldn't want to run shimmed ones.

Nick, what cam are you trying to run with these springs?
