Default Cam swap is done

Counting the stock cam, this will be the 5th cam that's been in my car. I had some minor issues which weren't really anybody's fault, but set me back a few days, nonetheless.

Anyway, everything was done/buttoned up Friday afternoon. I've been able to put a few miles on everything, and so far so good. The cam is a little bigger than what was in the car previously (I still don't want to discuss details until I do some testing), but it still idles pretty well @ 950-975rpm. It does have more noticeable "thump" now though. My rpm range seems to have moved upwards a little (which I expected), since the car still feels like it's pulling very well up to the 7300rpm rev-limiter. The Comp 918 springs seem to be working, also. I set the install height up between 1.770-1.780, which is a little shorter than the 1.800 that Comp rates them at. They're still nowhere close to coil bind at that height, and so far don't seem to have a problem with the ~7000rpm.

I also installed my Wolfe Racecraft swaybar on the car yesterday. If nothing else, it looks really badass on the car Hopefully it will help out with the 60's a little.

If all goes as planned, I plan on some testing tomorrow at my local 1/8th mile track. I usually can't hook there, and the car usually doesn't seem to perform as well either, so I don't know how much I'll be able to find out about the new parts.

I'm still waiting on my PA Racing tubular k-member/a-arms from TByrne, and my fiberglass hood from VFN.

Congrats George. You're getting like me with torque converters...you've tested a bunch of cams...we really value your input so don't hold back once you have some numbers...good or bad.

Patrick, I haven't had 11 torque converters, but I have had quite a few thus far...

Vigilante 3200 (4L60E)
Vigilante 3600 (4L60E)
Turbo Action 10" (TH350 swap)
Yank TP4400
Restalled Yank converter (tightened it up)
Turbo Action 10" back in car
JW 10" 4500 stall (current converter)

I think the JW is staying in the car for awhile.

Good luck George!! Hope Jax is kind to you, but you and I both know it'll probably suck

Hi George...

Sounds good. I bet I could guess the cam specs but I will just wait.

What IC?

jmX: Yeah, I think we're just cam happy! Hopefully this will be it for awhile though...

Derek: the weather is starting to look really good for tomorrow night, so I'm still somewhat optimistic. BTW, I figured out a fair asking price for the MAF translator. Get with me and see if you think it's fair.

PSJ: 112lsa, installed @ 110IC. And yes, I'm sure you could guess the specs, since I did tell you what I was doing awhile back

Strangely I could have made a post that started out the exact same way this morning.
