Looking for Hi-Flow muffler...
Has anyone tried the MagnaFlow system? I'm looking for a muffler that flows and is just as quiet as the SLP D/D muffler. Any ideas?

I have a Magnaflow muffler and it is a little louder than stock at idle and a good throaty sound at WOT. I use the cutout for

Re: Looking for Hi-Flow muffler...
Dynomax Ultraflo welded muffler is one of the highest flowing mufflers on the market. (Over 1000cfm)
The only 3 inch mufflers that flow more (Only slightly more) are the dynomax race magnum 3 inch bullet muffler and the Borla Xr1 race only muffler in 3 inch.
Jegs part number for the center in center out 3 inch welded is:
17220
Here is the page on it, good thing is it is only 59 bucks

Re: Looking for Hi-Flow muffler...
if you are only looking for a higher flowing muffler then I wouldnt get rid of the one you have now. GMHTP dyno tested a stock 01 WS6 catback and a B&B triflow and they only saw 1.3 rwhp over the WS6 muffler.
just some food for thought

Damn quiet. I went from stock SS catback to a 3" custom catback with that Dynomax ultraflow (17227) muffler. It's quieter now. DEAD quiet. Luckily I just leave the cutout uncapped all the time for some noise.

Re: Looking for Hi-Flow muffler...
Blank,
Thanks i did some research on the Magnaflow. It seems like the perfect muffler I'm looking for. With it's stainless construction, and straight through design it should be awesome. And it only cost $135.00. I'm going for total stealth with my build-up. My plans are:
JPR STAGE 1 or STAGE 2 HEADS.
'01 LS6 CAM.
FLP HEADERS WITH CATS.
MAGNAFLOW 14267 MUFFLER WITH STOCK PIPES.
P.I. 3600 #7
DIRECT FLOW LID WITH HOLLEY FILTER.
Can you say" Hello 11.6 to 11.8 at 116+mph"
At least I hope so

That would be about 1.3 rwhp more than I saw when I made the switch..
Did seem that the B&B was a tad lighter though..
