TR224 questions
yes i know another 224 thread.... but i searched and haven't found much on the stuff i was wondering...
well i have a 98 ls1 camaro A4 and it has richmond 373, LT and LM exhust, Slp Ultra Z hood and front breather....brand new tranny with all billet parts inside and have a 2300 stall in it.... and going to change to the LS6 intake with P/P TB soon....
but i was wondering would i be able to run the TR244 with upgrading the stall?? also what can i expect for a HP gain with the cam.... and how much more hp will i gain with after market heads over worked stock heads? also any one have sometimes with the cam and has an auto in their car... ive seen people with high hp with the sticks but not really anyone with autos....
Thanks
Derek

Is your TR cam the one with higher lift(.581)? if so i can tell you my experience cuz i have the same cam from comp. i have an 01 M6 car so i already have the LS6 intake, and when i did all the bolt ons, added the cam, and an excellent tune and i picked up 74 hp and 52 tq on a dyno jet. auto's usually lose more HP than the manuals but definitely do the bolt ons so you can take advantage of the cam. i'm unfamiliar with stalls in auto's so i'm clueless on that question of yours. and i'd definitely recomend tuning your car afterwards for better driveability and make sure your air fuel ratio is correct.
just my .02--hope it helps.

I have a TR224 on a 114 lsa for sale. Bought it last year and bought a daily driver before I installed it, so I am going bigger. If you're interested, let me know. By the way, I spoke with Thunder when I was trying to decide on my cam and they said it would work great with the 2800 stall I purchased from them and that with an auto, it would be easier to tune on the 114 lsa. I believe some people on this board are running it with the stock stall though. I dont think you would have a problem with it because the power band is 1700-6600 for that cam and the 2300 stall should push you into the band and keep you there.

I have that cam in an a4(TCI 34-3800 stall) puts 350rwhp some people put about 360 some around 340 depending on how big your stall is,the numbers dont seem high, but when you floor it most peole **** a brick.dont get too caught up in numbers with an a4 unless its real low.The first time it was tuned it put down 315 and it stalled alot, then when to a diff. tuner and put down 350rwhp.I have a friend on here with the same mods same tci stall and put down 342rwhp,but runs looooow 12's.Sure if you had a stick shiht it would show more hp on the dyno, but does not mean it would be faster

Light to light on street tires, I vote for the 224.
The first one is a 224 (red) VS a 231/237 (yes the 224 is red, it is a typo on the graph)
And the second is 224 VS G5x2 VS FM13
look who owns who below the curve (below 5252rpm)
