Small Engine Mod, Got The SLP Bellows Kit, Pretty Nice Sorry I know this is not anything huge. Just thought someone may want to see it on an 01 SS. Looks great IMO. Nice, easy mod to install, thats the way they all shoud be! <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Re: Small Engine Mod, Got The SLP Bellows Kit, Pretty Nice I like it too. I have one on order myself. I like the black color, and the Fernco mod that I invented doesn't flex very well and it makes it a pain in the *** to remove the filter. This should help.
Bet you guys didn't know that the "Fernco Mod" was originally called the "NineBall intake mod" did you? Just a little history.

Re: Small Engine Mod, Got The SLP Bellows Kit, Pretty Nice I don't see how that would be any better than a stock bellows, other than looking better. It still has a ridge in the middle, so I don't there would be any power increase, even the slightest. However it does look really good!

Fernco is the company that makes the adapters. Nine Ball was the one who pioneered the mod.

Back in 96, when I was ordering my 97 LT1 Ramair TA, and hanging out with the MidAtlantic F-body Association (MAFBA), the Fernco Coupler was a "first day" mod, similar to removing the SLP Cone Of Silence.
I believe I heard of the Fernco Coupler from a fellow from Virginia named Randy who had a great red Vortech-ed Formula.
Just a little history ;-) I think that Nineball was a Mustang guy back then........Right Tony?

Re: Small Engine Mod, Got The SLP Bellows Kit, Pretty Nice Visceral (Chris), you are correct, I was a Mustang guy back in 96-97 and also developed the "Nine Ball Ram-Air" setup for the SN95 Mustang GTs and Cobras. There is still a tech article on the corral for that mod. Funny huh?
As for the Fernco on the LT1 cars, I have no idea about LT1 cars and their use. I just know that nobody with an LS1 had thought of the idea when I figured it out. I discovered the Fernco couplers by accident at Home Depot when the lightbulb popped on haha.
