Oh yeah - a Gasket question
Would a GM Gasket #12498544 "0.293" work with PRC LS6 Stage 2.5 CNC Ported Heads with double gold springs, Magic Stick V.4 239/242, .649"/.609" Camshaft 112 LSA on a stock LS1 (346)?
I have been told I would have to flycut the pistons.
Thoughts?
I just don't want to have to shell out $150 for a 4.030 / .040 Cometics gaskets when I already have the GM gaskets.

Well, you wouldn't want a 4.030" gasket anyway. The stock bore on the 346 is 3.898". Putting a 4.030" gasket on wouldn't make sense and would just increase the area for detonation. Those gaskets are for 6.0 block applications, not stock 346's. If you're worried about flycutting, use the thicker GM MLS gaskets (for an LS1 block, not a 6.0) as they are .052-.054 compressed, rather than .040 like you were lookin at. I'm not saying this will eliminate the need to flycut at all, but it is the best option for your app.

I am trying to find the bore size for GM# 12498544 and having no luck. Does anyone know?
Also the heads are milled .005 on the surface. Won't a 7.350 pushrod make up for that over the stock 7.400 and avoiding the need for a certain thickness of headgasket?
Thanks

notch the pistons , run the .040's dont throw away compression running the stock size. Get the MS4 on a 111lsa . prob need 58-59cc for 8.5-8.7 dcr / scr will end up being around 12.0:1. MS4 49*@.050 IVC

I second notching the pistons if you can talk him into it. I personally wouldnt go quite so agressive with the compression as stated above, but i might go close.
