Default Purchasing o2 sensors.. (Cheap)

I have killed another set of 02 sensors and I need to find a cheap way to get new ones. I tried autozone and they have to order them at around $90 each. I guess that the price is so high because of the wiring harness, and wire length are specific to the ls1 Z28?? However, I was wondering if there is a cheap o2 sensor that I can buy at some place like autozone and put the ls1-specific wiring harness on myself.. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I don't know of any cheap ones but I must wonder what it is that's killing your O2 sensors? Are you seeing any coolant loss? Are you using leaded gas?

The first set of o2's that went bad was due to coolant loss.

I think that this set o2's going bad can be attributed to a couple of vacuum leaks that have caused what looks to be a rich condition (by looking at the plugs). The EGR where it attaches to the intake was leaking like mad!!

How do you know that they have started to go bad? Mine were definitely exposed to coolant due to the blown headgasket.

I think Jay Fischer (sp?) Pontiac sells them for about $65. If they are not a sponsor here I am pretty sure you can get in touch with them from LS1.com.

Freak: If they are completely bad, you'll run pig rich, yet the O2s will show you being about normal. I'm wondering how do you know if they are partially bad?

I just called Jay Fisher Pontiac http://www.jayfisherpontiac.com/enter.htm and was able to get the o2 sensors for $75 each plus shipping. It was a pretty good deal considering the local dealerships were wanting $110 apiece. Just to follow up for others information.
