rear axle I was talking to a guy that works with gm and he told me that the 02 z28 does not come with the 2.73 gears. It is either 3.08, 3.23, or 3.42 depending on my tranny type of a4 or m6. Any1 know if this is true? <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

Re: rear axle Do yourself a favor and never talk to that guy again. NO 4th gen comes with 3.08 gears period. If it's an A4 it's either 2.73 or 3.23 depending on what RPO code you have. I think GU8 is 3.23. All M6s come with 3.42s.

Re: rear axle Oh, I see where the confusion is coming from on the GM site. You get 3.08 gears in the V6 A4.
Edit: 2.73 is standard for A4s. This has ALWAYS been the case. However, I don't see it on the site either. But I know they didn't change it for one year, and the last year at that.

Re: rear axle well i emailed this guy and he said he send me documentation of the gear availability in the 02 models...he says its another of chevys hideaways, sorta like the hp rating of the ls1. anyway ill let you know when i get it. <img src="graemlins/gr_bs.gif" border="0" alt="[bullshit]" />

Re: rear axle I fully understand that, but then again, every gm site i go to it says nothing about the 2.73 gears whatsoever being in the 02 model. it only shows the 3.08, 3.23, and the 3.42. ill guess ill find out when we jack up the car tomorrow! but when you get the specs on the 01 it does mention the 2.73s.
