Differences in ls1 and ls6 intakes?
What about the ls6 on the 2001 camaro vs. 97 corvette intake? Is this intake the same as the ls6 intake on the 2001 camaro? If not did they ever put an ls6 intake on a corvette other then the z06? What year did they start doing it?
The "many" that said that you would gain something were simply wrong.

I worded my thread wrong. I meant to say that many have said that having the LS6 intake stock on the 01,02 LS1's slightly improved the stock numbers of some of these cars over LS1's of previous years.
If, if you combo can use any part of this extra 10%, then you will see gains.

I'm curious because I bought an "LS6 intake" from a vendor on the OTHER board and I managed to lose 3 rwhp and 3 rwtq after the install! Just thought that was fishy.

How can you distinguish a Non-EGR LS1 (Vette) intake from an LS6 intake...since neither have the EGR opening? Are there cosmetic differences to tell them apart?

The LS6 intake is flat on the bottom while the LS1 intake has provisions for the cooling pipes.

So I am looking for no holes in the bottom on the manifold? I have a casting number of the intake (12556333) it might be gm part number but when I went to the deal they said they could not convert the casting number to a gm part number.
One more thing you guy are so much eayer to talk to then the guys on ls1.com. My post will go with no replies
one more thing ? so 97 to 00 vets had egr holes in them? this intake i am looking at came off a vet but unknown year i know it's not a 01/02. it's older then that.
