If, and this is a big IF... there was some kinda of a stock option plan...

Okay, if I wanted to have a switch that would disable all lights in the back of my car, what all would this entail. Please don't respond with some, "Why would you want to do that?" response. I just want to know what wires to hook the switch up to and how hard it would be!?!

Find the wire in the harness that i think runs down the drives door sill and cut the wire and splice in the new wire and switch,as for brake lights thats easy just put a switch in on the brake light switch under the dash.(this is for those stealth getaways) <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

"Stealth Getaways" Ummmmm...I'm afraid I don't know what your refering to! How could I hook up one switch to do both, be ALOT more specific with what wires...electrical is by far my weak point!

Just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth... <preaching>You should stop getting into situations where you have to "get away 3 times", one day you may hurt someone, maybe even yourself. I used to do this almost daily it seemed on my motorcycles, but now I have nightmare visions of those events gone wrong and thank God/whoever that I lived. </preaching>

I have been pulled over plenty of times, so I realize that in fact there are times when it's not good to even think about running! Just like street racing, there are times that are much safer to do this than others. And if you look at my original post, I asked to refrain from posting "advice" like this. I stressed that I am solely doing this for "education purposes"!!! If you don't want me to do this that's fine and dandy, but if you would like to help me (what a message board is for) then by all means do that! I'm not sure what I would do about the reflectors, if you do, please feel free to help out!

Re: If, and this is a big IF... the 20 amp tail lps fuse in the side of the dash will disable all the lights except for headlights. this does include dash/interior lights, you could rig a switch on the ground side of that fuse but i couldnt tell you wire color etc.
Re: If, and this is a big IF... find the fuse that operates the lights you want to disable, take two blade type crimp connectors and put one in each side where the fuse was, put a inline fuse on one wire going to switch, and a straight wire from switch to other slot where fuse was...BINGO switched lights. of course this is a educational theory.
