Default Cam For 408 Ci ?????

I have searched for related threads on this, but there is very little information on the bigger sized cams. Current set up is 408ci, Dart 225 heads slightly ported on the exhaust, 12.3:1 CR, 100 octane, comp cam 244 248 .610 .618 112lsa, m6 w/ textralia clutch.

We had a lifter problem and are going to replace all the lifters and the cam. I figured this would be the time to go with a bigger cam. I would like a little more horse power and low end torque. The drive-ability is important, but can be a little rigid.

Does anyone have a similar set up w/ a larger cam? If so what kind of drive-ability do you have and what kind of numbers do you make on the dyno?

Thanks for any input!

No the rings are gapped at .028 and .024, .017 is what they were gapped from the other engine builder.

Rob use's the car NA but it's set-up for a shot of nitrous.

isn't .017 alittle tight for alot of nitrous ? i thought nitrous motors was usually set at around .027 or so for big hits but .017 will still take a decent sized shot. anyways to your cam question asking for more bottom end torque with a bigger cam will be hard to get.you might be able to get a slightly larger cam on a tight lsa to keep your dcr up to gain alittle hp and keep the bottom end you have but added bottom end with a larger cam is hard to get.if you have some good springs you might get a cam on lsk lobes to give you more power i have no knowledge of specific lsk lobes to suggest.if your c/r is 12:3 have someone like patrick or another one of the cam gurus help you out, they are very smart on these lsx motors.just tell them exactly what you have and what you want.
