It sure does seem to be. Giving it some more thought, I can't see it being on backorder for long since the engine is in production, and no doubt people will need this part for warranty work. It wouldn't look good if a Monte came in for service, but they couldn't give the guy his car for 2 months because an oil pump is on backorder.

A little more information on these pumps: 12571885 is the pump not only for LS4 engines from '05-'06, but also for the '05-'06 LH6 engines found in SSR's, Colorado's, and Trailblazer's (and of course their GMC counterparts). GM is, like mentioned, out of stock on this pump currently.
There is another pump that I am being told is equivalent in pressure/volume. It is 12612289 which is found on numerous '07 LS4's, L76's, LC9's, and LH6's. This one is NOT on back-order from GM. We should have another shipment coming in on this pump sometime this week. It is priced similarly to the 12571885 pump.
Give me a call if I can answer any other questions about these or to put in your order!

That's great. Now we have two other options besides the LS6. Is the 12612289 about the same price, or cheaper, than the 12571885 pump?
