Matt I was in the hunt for a new oil pump andit sounds like you found a great alternative. Let me know if the new pump is a direct replacement like you suspect and I will place my order. Thanks.

Also very interested in volume/pressure differences between the LS1/6 pump and these new pumps.

I am going to guess that if the General has 2 part nos there is a real difference in the pump somewhere. And that real difference should be very important to us.

I guess another pertinent question to ask is about the pick-up O-ring. I know the LS6 has a specific one that is used, so it would stand to reason that the new LS4 pump would as well. Hopefully we can get some information on that as well.

I remember reading about this pump not to long ago. Since the motor is mounted transverse, they were worried about oil starvation during corning. So they decided to up the oil pressure. Wish i could find the article, seems like a good buy to me...

Mssingkid: That's what we've been told as well...but we wanted to hear it from further up the "food chain" at GM before we put it as fact on the internet. This is my one and only goal tomorrow, to get hard fact on this pump. Sorry for the delay guys!

There is a online Gm source that had them last week...I just got mine the other day from them. I'm not sure if I am allowed to say who they in this forum as I don't think they are a sponsor here.
