Hammer, that pump fits so much more than the LS4 engines that's it's kind of getting funny hearing you and others call it that. The new part number also fits alot more than the LS4 engines. And Scoggin Dickey (yes the exclusive GM dealer on this board) has the pumps in stock, they aren't backordered! If you read the entire thread, we are waiting to hear back from GM to be sure that they are actual a better pump then previous models.

But good luck to all who have them and have installed them expecting a high flow pump....I sincerely hope that pump isn't an expensive paper weight in the next few days!

so your not sure if the new oil pump (pn: 12612289 ) is better or even as good as the older oil pump (pn: 12571885) ???
so i take it we're better off waiting for the LS4 pump to be back from back order

It's good to know that you guys have them. I ordered mine from the other place because I found out they had them from another poster and I jumped on it to ensure I could get one. I could have waited and placed it with that current order I have in with you but didn't want to take the chance.

Well anyway, the feedback from others who have installed the pump and compared it to a previous LS6 ported pump is all positive for significantly more oil pressure. Since I'm installing a Dewitt radiator with a built in oil cooler, I wanted to make sure that I had excessive oil pressure to go with it as the oil cooler will "rob" some of the oil output. I'm confident I made the right choice.

I'm fairly confident in your choice as well! But again, I hate to sell it on a hunch, so people can protect their multi-thousand dollar engines with it. Hopefully today I'll have the honor of posting real differences so we can all be positively sure that that pump is a good buy!

Matt what other pumps are you going to recommend for a C5 LS1 supercharger project? I am in the middle of a build and cant wait for the oil pump any more. I need something like yesterday.

^ Nouman... get a melling... they're $130ish, but they're actual high volume pumps as opposed to a ported and shimmed LS6.

Here's my LS4 that I put in last night... looks like stocker, fits like stocker, different internal gerotor.

Like stated above, you can't go wrong with the Melling or our Blueprinted/ported pump. OR, I do have the "LS4" pumps in stock, and you could throw it in there. Nobody has installed one with negative results to date, that I know of!

Matt... All this talk of LS4 pumps remind me... add two Pick-up tube O-rings to my order bin. I realized I never ordered one, so I'm getting two just in case I pinch the first.
