Default Dyno sheets from my Dyno Tune w/ LS1 edit

Alright, last sat. I was luck enough to win a raffle for a free dyno tune. It was put on by http://www.motownmuscle.com and the tuneing was done by http://www.ap-engineering.com .

I will let the graphs speak for themselves, and answer questions as they are posted....

Mod list is available at my website http://weasle.cz28.com/aboutcar.html It is a 1999 SS M6 with 50K miles on it

Here is the before and after info:

here is the final, and most accuarte Dyno graph after tuning:

and here is the graph showing the gains at different RPM's....the baseline, 0, is before tuning and the colored lines on the graph represent the HP/TRQ increases at different RPM's.

I was there and whitnessed it step by step. No jokes here If i can remember most of the tuning had to do with getting the a/f steady throughout the rpm band. It started off leaning out real bad on top end and caused timing to get pulled or something like that. Ryan could prolly give more info. But 330/350 on a mustang dyno for a light bolt on car is amazing!

me too, i was there

Kirk at APE fine tuned the A/F for the ported MAF. Then went in and tweaked the timing.

Believe it or not, a proper tune is the way to go.

Trust me, i know

Do you know how much they normally charge for a dyno tune?

No, I had a MAFT...but was told to get rid of it, b/c it would no longer be needed. The programming takes care of anything a MAFT could do plus so much more.

RED QUASAR & y2khawk pretty much spelled out what was done....along with bumping my rev limiter up to 6200, removing skip shift, removing the speed limiter, and make the fans turn on at lower engine temps.

I believe they charge $375 for the tune, and $100 per hour for the Dyno time. It'll approxiamtely take about 2 hours worth of dyno time.

CALL APE and ask (586)954-3181

So what changes did you make im guessing some easy stuff like 5 min of time. I bet you added some fuel in the PE vs RPM tables in the upper rpms like 4800 to 6000 rpms. That worked great for my impala too. Did the advance the spark any? A good place to start would be +2 deg across the entire rpm range. Plus you did your fans revlimiters ect... RIGHT?? Let us know because i will begine to tun our LS1's soon. Just wanted to see if the LS1 responds the same as the Lt1. As i suspect it should. Ive completely tuned my Impala from scratch for my 409 with LT1 Edit. But awsome results! Look what my car dynoed at and all i have is a lid filter and a Loudmouth 325 RWHP YES!

Adjusting the air fuel ratio is not telling us how they did it. You dont just put in a number there are lots of changes involved!

So what changes did they make your killing me!

I couldn't tell you everything he changed.....there were a lot of people there, and I just wanted him to do his thing. My car was running, SUPER lean....so he upped my A/F tables. You are more than welcome to call him and talk to him about it http://www.ap-engineering.com ask for Kirk.

he disabled CAGS, made fans come on at lower temps, bumped my rev limiter to 6200RPM, set speed limiter to 200mph , and that's all I remeber

I won this in a raffle, so I didn't want to be too pushy...just let him work his mojo. He knows what he is doing.

First, he "fixed" the calibration for the MAF itself. Corrected the cal for the port job on the MAF. Removing the MAFT in the process.

I know he bumped the advance after 3000. Not sure how much, but i discussed the load locations w/ him before he made changes.

Not sure on the final A/F, but i'm betting he leaned it out a tad.

And yes, it's as easy as putting in a number if you have a correct MAF calibration.
