I just checked my LS1/LS6 book and it lists no casting number that ends in 799 . I suspect that number is a stamping somewhere else on the head casting. Ask them to take a photo of the lower right hand corner of the head. That will tell you if they're LS6 heads or not.

thats where the pic was taken i seen it myself. could they be truck heads or something?

i seen the same heads. the had 799 as the casting # on the corner, appeared to be sodium filled valves and all..... confused the crap out of me

they are from an L33 5.3 H.O. motor i believe the heads you are talking about are from somone around here since hes also selling them on a local board http://www.newyorkfbody.com/viewtopic.php?t=2916
