I have a 2001 and am installing Hooker LT's. The AIR tubes don't seem as though they are going to work with these headers, I think that they are designed to work on a 98-99 since they have different AIR tubes. Do I need to buy new AIR tubes or try and bend mine? Will it effect anything if I try and bend them? And where can I get them?
The install is real easy, I would say ir will be a total of a 6 hour install if all goes smoothly as it has been so far

If this is the same for other headers, you need new air tubes. You will need the 98-99 ones. The part numbers are 12559189 and 12559188. www.Gmpart.com is a great place to get them from. WAY better than GMpartsdirect. Hope this helps, glad the install is going good, my FLP's went in smooth...till i broke a bolt off in the head.

Eewwww, me no like broken bolts, had that happen way to many times to me. I have heard that you can cut the AIR tubes and add a piece of rubber hosing in between the two stock metal tubing to give some flexability and make up the distance needed. Any one think that would be ok?

Why not invest a little more money and get LS1 Edit and delete those and use block-off plates. You don't need that stuff anyway and it cleans up the engine compartment quite nicely.
The Edit would come in handy for any future cam/heads mods too.
Just a thought.

ls1edit isnt out for 01+ cars yet, so thats not a good option. and if you are in the middle- you cant just go out and buy some (unless a dealer has them)
on my first car (someone ran into it) i ran into the same problem (well, i knew beforehand) with my FLPs. I just took them to a vice and bent them. careful cause it might block off the passage completely. i didnt bend it enough so i got some hose at pepboys and got a little creative . just connected it to the stock rubber house. someone totalled it, so i had some time to order the right tubes- looks much cleaner now.
if you need the pre 01s, ill sell you mine since im getting it deleted with programming.

Do you all think that the heavy duty heater type hose will burn, melt? I cut the AIR tube in the middle and used the rubber hosing to extend the tubes so they fit. Is this gonna be ok?
