Default E.T. difference between Hotcam and C1?

Ok, I'm trying to find a way to still get in on the MTI camshaft special to get the C1(hammer) cam but if I can't, I'm going to go with the hotcam. My question is how much E.T. difference would I make with the C1 over the hotcam? I am not interested in dyno numbers as I have not dyno'd before and have really no desire to but I do go to the track every time I get chance(which is a lot) and the times speak for themselves. I can't afford to get the hammercam if the special is not going on becase I am so broke right now I would have to put a Big Mac in layaway.

Come on now, nobody wants to take a shot at a guesstimation? Anybody? How many tenths would the C1 pick up over the hotcam in the 1/4? I need to know because I am ordering one or the other TODAY!

Nobody wants to take a shot because the cam is not the big determiner in E.T.
MPH , maybe we could guess there.

But E.T.? i dunno. I it would depend on your set up.

I wouldnt even want to hazard a guess.

I know the cam was VERY good to me. The C1 will make better power, idle smoother, and will compliment after market heads nicely.

I would DEFINATLEY recommend the Hammer over the hot cam. But hey, thats just my opinion.

good luck!

like john said, you cant just say who is faster. now with aftermarket heads that are ported and match the specs of the cam (and it should be opposite ofcourse - cam maatches heads), then it can easily be said that the hammer cam is a more powerful cam. but faster? you cant. it is all about traction and set up. weight, transfer, shifting, gearing, weather, track conditions - see what i mean? it is impossible to say - "well it is 3 tenths faster...blah blah" - that is someone that has not been around racing. given al these variables - more power does not ALWAYS make for a faster car.

oh and i am a hotcam guy

C1 will make more power than than the hotcam and also idle better. I think this will be the case with ported and stock heads.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the replies guys, I just ordered the hammer cam I will be putting it in with Hooker LT's. No heads yet but will have them in about 6 months. So how does this cam do on a headless motor with LT's? Will I have the idle problems like a hotcam or not. I know that on a 112LSA it will have some idle problems but will I just be able to drill the TB?
