528ci LS1!!!!?????
A guy here in my home town claims to be building a 528ci LS1 style engine. He already has a Darton block (so I'm told) 427, LS7 heads and intake built by HPE. I don't see how they can get this much displacement out of a LS1 style engine. Is this posable? Is there cranks, pistons, and blocks out there that can go to the size? I'm just curious so I thought I would post a thread about it, I've done a search and the biggest CID that I have seen in these engines is 456. Thanks for any info!

maybe he's trying to be like this:

sounds almost identical to what he's talking about, but it's not an LSx style motor.

The way this guy is, he dosen't worry about feasablity sometimes. Speaking of beasts, when is yours going to be running again?

For anyone who cares, if this guy were talking about says he's doing it, he's probablly bought a way to do it. I called BS at first as well, but with this guy, I don't know. He probally has a ERL block with longer than a 4.500" stroke if I had to guess. It would have to be a 4.250" x 4.650" to get 528 cubes.

We all know that he (Garrett) has the means to do just about what ever he wants. About talking to Stephen, those guys really don't care for me so that's why I thought I would ask on here to see what info I could come up with.

Gotcha, didn't know there was some tension between you guys. I'll talk to Stephen and see if he comes up with any info. To answer the question though, these wil not be shelf parts. It would have to be T-totally custom even by tall deck standards. Bore spacing won't allow anything over 4.250 safley, so he either had to go taller than the tall deck or longer than the longest stroke. Either way, it would equal BIG oney, and I'm still not completly sure that it's possible. More of a uncharted territory thing....
