Default Favor to ask, can someone measure (LS6 intake)

Can someone measure the inlet of an LS6 intake? If you have digital calipers I would like it exact.

If you have an LS1 intake lying around could you measure that too.

97-00 intake, 2.943" in diameter. (measured with digital calipers)

Pretty sure the 01+ intakes are the same size.

Great!

What's that in millimeters?

Anyone else measure their LS6 intake, I'd like to see if they are all exactly the same.

I will take my extra TB, and bore it to the same size as my intake.

2.943" = 74.75mm
2.970" = 75.43mm

25.4 mm per inch:

2.97 X 25.4 = 75.4 mm
2.94 x 25.4 = 74.7

Since the stock 75mm TB works with the LS6 intake, these results are not unexpected.

Back in 1999 I think, I had a local guy bore a stock TB for me on a CNC machine. I forget the size, it's somewhere between 78 and 80 millimeters. Unfortunately it was too big for my LS1 intake, I could see the gasket (orange) after the TB was bolted up.

But Chris/Bluhawk is saying in this other thread that his inlet was bigger...

99 LS1 Intake = 2.974" at opening.

99 LS1 Intake = 2.941" @ 0.550" into the opening

On a side note, I measured a 98 TB opening on the back side I have, the outlet side measured 2.976".

Will port-matching the TB to the intake do any good since you'll be using the same TB blade?

I am not going to do anything now. If the LS6 inlet was bigger, say 78mm, I was going to bore a TB out to 78.
