I dont know the LSA it does not state. My car goes in the shop saturday and can get this cam in one day from summit if i decided to add cam with heads.Actually I already have aTR224/112 just thought just in case i want to go bigger.I dont see to many run crane cams here so i thought i ask what do you guys think

A 112 LSA is what I have right now and thats where I want it to be and it will fit no problems and the dual springs are good .650 lift Im just wondering why not too many people run crane cams here, any problems with them? Would this make a big difference over my TR224/112 cam or should i stick with the cam i have and bolt the heads on

crane has been mainly in the nascar, dirt track, circle track, sprint cars, etc... for quite some time. in the last few years, they have started coming on strong in the drag and street scene. there are plenty of people using them, just not many speak up. R&D for the LSx field has been handled through one of the sponsors here www.vincihighperformance.com . do a search for mark campbell. he is the VP of crane cams and posts here.

I am running a Crane (Vinci or VHP) cam and am quite pleased with the results. I keep seeing a lot of chest thumping on the 224/224 cam, but mine is right there with them as far as the final curve and available power and mines on a 115 LSA and idles quite smoothly.

if you are going to upgrade from tr 224-224 .my advice is go much bigger cuz this crane cam well not going to give much diffrences and your cam is one of the best cams ever for strong power and daily driven, but if you are going to swap go for somthing like t-rex or trak .or even lg :g5x2 or x3.
good luck

you are going to make power, just at a higher rpm and taking away some low end in the trade off. it's up to you how much of what you want to trade off. personally, this would be a nice upgrade without sacrificing much low end at all. IMO, TRex just isn't made for daily driving. it's made to make lots of power and up high.

if you car is an a4 you will need a stall to run this cam. my car is a m6 and at 2800 the power comes on like you hit the nitro button

Three reasons, I like the fact that they accelerate the valves faster off the seat and the ratio through the motion arc is better than the stock valve. I like the full adjustability of the Cranes and finally I found I could get a much better wipe pattern out of the Crane rollers due to this full adjustability. The stock rockers didn't produce a consistant wipe pattern and on some it was actually off to the side of the valve stem.

I have run both the 1.7 and the 1.8 Crane rockers, the 1.7's are currently on the car, the 1.8's are in storage and I may try them again later. Crane rockers don't seem to find a lot of favor on this web site, but most guys who berate them haven't even tried them and are not speaking from experience.

i have used this cam before, well i use crane for all my lsx stuff and you will not be disappointed by that cam. this cam pulls like a red headed step child from 3200-6700 rpms. this cam matched with heads, intake, and a 3500+ stahl is a mean set up. this cam can produce 430+power/410+trq if used in the right combination. the only thing i might do with this cam, is retard it 2 degrees, and get the ICL at 109. But all in all, a big improvement over the tr224 cam. good luck

I have a cam for sale in the Part For Sale section that is very close to what you are looking at. It is a Comp Cam 228/232 .588/.595 111+1 I installed this cam with the same heads you are going to use, PRC stage 2.5 5.3L. I also added LT headers, ported TB and made 431 rwhp and 400 rwtq. The graph is in the dyno section titled: PRC Stage 2.3 5.3L 228 Camshaft Results and was posted by Jason of TSP.

The reason I took it out is that I am very picky with my car and this cam made the car shake at idle and I didn't like it. I liked the way the cam sounded and performed with no problem but just didn't want to put up with the shaking.

The cam only has 600 miles on it and there are pictures of it in my post in the Parts for Sales section. This thing pulls really hard.

look always wait for the better deals dont just go for cam just because you dont have time to get another one, take it from me and wait and do more research

ive done a similar experiment into my car before ,and i end up selling the parts

a few months later. and am so happy with my tr 224 i make 402hp with my dart 205 heads with a good tuning and its daily drive car.

but as i told ya if you are going to swap dont waist your mony and time for a little upgrade just go for somthing really diffrent.try to call thunder racing and they will grind a cam specialy for your mods its worth the hassle.

or u can by g5x-2 or x-3 from lgmotorsport most of my friends are usinig it

and all of thear cars produce more than 400hp without heads and its thear daily driven car.

good luck
