Just an FYI,,,,,,,in a "lost oil pressure" I believe, thread a gentleman had a graph that claimed that all GM oil pumps pressure dropped like a rock above 6500 rpm's and that Mellings pumps continued to rise to 8000rpm's . I don't remember who it was nor do I know if that claim is true or not . Maybe someone else has some info on this issue . Also there is a oil pump that has a large ball bearing and spring for the pressure relief that is supposed to not ever get stuck such as the cylinder and spring style 1's do . They cost about $150 I believe . I will have to think about which vendor sells Them and post that info later ,,,,or maybe someone else is familiar with who sells those pumps
