Default Help me pick one of these two cams for my motor.

Heres a list of what I have.

1999 WS6 Trans Am converible M6(about 4100lbs with my FAT *** sitting in the drivers seat.

MODS
ARE 4.08 Bore 378CI
MTI stageII heads 2.055in/1.60ex(Combustion Chambers soon to opened up for the larger bore)
LS6 manifold
Whisper Lid
ASP pulleys
TTS Long tube headers with Off-Road Pipe
Borla Cat-Back
GMAFS
Moser 9"
RAM clutch
I probably forget something but it has pretty much ALL the bolt ons

Heres copies of the Cam Cards.
One is a Hammer Cam(I already have this one) the other is a IRS Comp Cams custom grind which I can pick up pretty cheap.
I did notice that the IRS cam says "These specs are for cam installed at 108 intake centerline" vs 112 intake centerline for the Hammer Cam.
How do I convert 108 to 112 intake centerline and vice-versa?

HERES A COPY OF THE "IRS" CAM CARD

Gross Valve Lift 0.581/.581
Dur@.006 tappet lift 273/273

Valve Timing@ 0.50
open close
IN 4 BTDC 40 ABDC
Ex 48 BBDC 4 ATDC

These specs are for cam installed at 108 intake centerline.
IN EX
Duration at 0.050 224 224
Lobe Lift 0.3420 0.3420
LOBE SEPERATION 112

HERES A COPY OF THE "HAMMER" CAM CARD for comparison purposes.

Gross Valve Lift 0.566/0.566
Dur@.006 tappet lift 275/275

Valve Timing@ 0.50
open close
IN 1 BTDC 43 ABDC
Ex 43 BBDC 1 ATDC

These specs are for cam installed at 112 intake centerline.
IN EX
Duration at 0.050 222 222
Lobe Lift 0.3330 0.3330
LOBE SEPERATION 112

Thanks for your help.

Personally I would look at a 228/228 or 230/230 single pattern cam on 112LSA and around 580 lift for that motor. That with a good double spring will work really well and peka around 6300-6400rpms.
Cheers,
Chris

Im want the car to sound as stock as possible without losing major horsepower doing so.
How do I compare specs at a 108 intake centerline to those at a 112.

I have the perfect cam for you. I was going to build a big bore motor but have changed plans. Its a comp custom grind. Here are the specs: .576 lift, 230 duration at .050 ground on a 113 with +2 built in. It should be perfect for your setup. New in the box, 250.00 and its yours.

chris is right on this one i think.
226-230 duration on the cid would sound almost stock. with maybe a 112 or 114 lsa

I've got the perfect cam for you, and might have it to sell by this weekend.

Since I sold my all-bore 382ci motor to a guy that is putting it in a Corvette, he opted for the milder T1 cam for the stealth factor.

T2 cam - 232/232 .574/.574 112 (+4 deg adv)

email me if you are interested, and I'll check on the status of the cam this week. Oh yeah, it only has 2260 miles on it.

Tony
