high lift numbers are nice, low lift numbers seem a little low. What is the intake port volume? seems like you removed a lot of material? 235cc's?

Those are through 2.02 and 1.60 valves....no pics or flow sheet. My friend helping me port them took them to get flowed and just text me the numbers....I'm kinda mad at myself for not taking pictures of my progress..... I did remove quite a bit off the intake runners

I never understood how people can port their own heads. Every chamber can not be the same as the next with out a computer control machine. Couldnt this be very dangerous?

Those are some outrageous high numbers for home ported 243s. What valves? What pressure drop? What bore? Was it just a hot flowbench?

Thats why i wanted to see if they are just really large runners, with some larger valves, the numbers are just really high.

I have a set of hand ported 243's with stock valves and 229cc intake runners that just flow 300 cfm and .600. with good low and mid lift flow also. And my heads were ported by someone with lots of experience.its tough to say if those are any good or not with the little information given

Yeah those could end up being a 240/250ish sized runner. The flow looks good, but without details it's hard to tell.

I honestly don't know anymore than I posted up.....I have been helped by someone who is very very talented....I will try to find out all the information as soon as I can but the heads are at my friends house where we have been porting them. I don't know a whole lot about head porting other than he did one cylinder and I would copy it to the rest and he kept a watchful eye to make sure I didn't screw up.....So for my own personal knowledge redtail....how do you measure intake runner volume? I wil send my friend a text message and ask him if he can measure it.

you simply take a buret with a piece of plexiglass to cover just the port opening, and fill the port with water.put a small hole in the plexi-glass to fill it through ,using the buret.

install the valve into the port, and seal that with grease on the stem and install rocker arm bolt to seal that.

who knows what the +/- range should be if someone were to actually measure all the ports?

A graduated cylinder, youd have to pour out. A burette is like a graduated cylinder with a petcock and a capillary tube at the bottom. You can control the flow and slow it down to dole out just a few drops at a time.
