Default How much power loss with A/F ratio of 14.2-1 on the dyno?

I did a brief dyno run tonight to get a baseline before I go to Thunder Racing to get some dyno tuning. My WOT A/F ratio throughout the run was 14.2 to 1...YIKES! I know that's lean, but how much will I gain by getting it closer to 13.0?

I would think you would pick up some.. I had a vacuum leak once on the dyno and my A/F bounced around right along with my hp/tq.. I see you decided not to wait on that cam..

Vincent,

The XE-R comp 226/226 was back-ordered for two weeks. Last week my oil pump locked up. I needed to replace the oil pump so I added a cam at the same time. Geoff at Thunder Racing fixed me up real fast. Got it the very next day and was running that night.

From what I know, the A/F ratio should be around 13.0 to 1 on the dynojet which whould get close to 13.5 to 1 on the track. Guess that means that my A/F ratio must be REALLY lean on the street...maybe like 14.7 to 1...Yikes!

I didnt have heads/cam at the time but I dyno'd once with an air/fuel of 15.1 or so and I tuned it down to high 12's low 13's and I gained almost 20hp. Not sure if its applicable inyour case but thats what I got.

Yes John, my rwhp flatlined at 5800 rpms. Should have climbed to at least 6300 with this TR224/224 112LSA cam...maybe higher. Tuning is FUBAR for sure. I'm set to get an LS1 Edit session with wideband at Thunder Racing on Friday.

14:1 will kill you around peak torque, but at the higher RPMS it shouldn't hurt dyno power too much. Of course on the road you'll be leaner than on the dyno, so you really need to get that number closer to 13:1 (as you know). Does the new cam feel any stronger?

Definitely loosing power with a 14:1 AF, did rwhp flatline at a low rpm?
