Since the ATI pulley has a keyway machined into it you pin from the top side of the crank (as seen in the pic) vs. the front like many do w/ other pulleys.
First, you install the drilling fixutre and run in an old bolt and get it wrench tight. Then using a 8" 11/64ths bit and a good drill you drill until you hit the bolt, make sure the motor is fairly well sealed from shavings (I used rags and paper towels and painters tape). Then remove the fixture, set the drill to low speed, and ream it w/ the 3/16ths reamer that comes w/ the pinning kit. Then take the ATI supplied pin, dab some grease on it, and stick it in the hole. Then as you set your pulley on the crank snout make sure the keyway is lined up w/ the pin.... then proceed w/ pulley install.

Duh, I should have figured out that the balancer was keyed. Thanks!
Got a lot done, but no fire yet... even if I did get it done it'd be rude to fire it at 2 am
Yella Terra's in... they didn't need shims for me as it took under 1 full turn to get wrench tight, directions say had tight then turn each bolt 1/4 turn until tight. If it takes over 1.5 full turns then you need to install the shims to get the correct pre-load. I went cylinder by cylinder putting each at TDC (both valves closed) installed and torqued to the factory spec of 22 ft/lbs. w/ blue loc-tite.

Here's a bunch.... steering rack in and hooked up, ps cooler in, ps pump in, water pump in and belts run.

Alternator on, valve covers on etc.

Coil packs on w/ plug wires hooked up... done for tonight.

Tomorrow install radiator/oil cooler, air intake, hook up tie rod ends, re-fill oil and coolant, then cross my fingers and fire her up.

man!! I'm excited!! cant wait to hear it. u will post sound/video! right? I know u would have like to finish it up and fire it up too. I finished mine around 11pm at night and fired it up. course it was saturday night but, I did worn my nieghbors earlier about it they said go ahead. like I wanted thier permission
anyway when I did they came out to check it out. they thought it was going to be quieter. one of them said " damn, I knew it would be louder then stock but, damn this sounds lika a beast". by the look in thier face they were just as excited then I was. needless to say I checked for leaks, she (fuerzaws6) as I call her got to idle on her own, verified no leaks, shut her down, and nieghbors stuck around and drank a few, few and few more beers
and talked about our past car stories. it was great. sure u sitting around having a few with u buds now.
sound & video man!!!

SUCCESS
Pulled the coil pack plugs, turned the motor over for 5 seconds... everything went fine. Pluged them in and fired her up. I was so nervous I was shaking. Oil pressure came right up and didn't let off, no pulley wobble, no thrown belts, no odd valve train noise, in fact it's very very quiet w/ the roller rockers in.

Took her a bit, but she found an idle and idled great... took it out and put about 50 miles on it to heat cycle the new springs. The car won't idle at all when slowing down, just needs tuning. It drives like stock when rolling and cruised in 6th at 1500 just fine, lower than that and it'd buck some.
Can't wait to open it up
Will put a baseline tune on it next week w/ my buddies HPtuners and then have it tuned by Jeff Creech at CAM while he's up here at Abacus on Feb 3rd to lock in the WOT.

Put another 100 miles on it this evening... it won't idle at all, but it drives like stock once going. The problem is with my aluminum flywheel the revs drop so fast the car just dies. It need tuning. I let it fully cool down at my buddy's shop... then on the way home tonight I got on it full throttle but only to about 5200 rpms... it just lit up 3rd gear
congrats! sure it sounds great.
how about video/sounds ? I want to hear it before tune. mine did same, buckled, sometimes died at stops. once tuned, it made sweet melody lope at idle. "ur killing me w/ no video man".

Very nice! I am interested to see the graph and some moving videos. What are the exact specs on the g5x2? How high are you going to rev the car? Just curious because I have been looking into cams again even though I told myself I would not cam the vette LOL
