Default GM top end cleaner WOW!

Did a new PVC and top end clean, the amount of smoke that came out was unbelievable. Had the whole neiboorhood looking. If a cop would've seen it I'm SURE I woulda got pulled over unbelievable. Anyways, I didn't expect any improvments and got none, just peace of mind. I used the aerosol can type and sprayed it through the TB with the Motor running. let it sit for an hour and then ran it out.

It's good to do once a year.
Gets out the carbon and reduces detonation.

Change your oil!!

Just a couple of questions here...

How did you "spray it through the TB"? Did you run the TB completely open with nothing attatched to it? Or did you disconnect one of the hoses and spray it through there?

Also, did you use the entire can?

Just take the whole lid assmbly off the TB only, leave all electrical connections on like MAF and IAT. Start car and spray ENTIRE can into TB as you spray the TB will suck up the liquid. turn off motor when can is empty, wait at least 15 min(the can says 15 min), I waited an hour, some guys wait overnight. Then start car up, I got no codes whatsoever.

I didn't know GM has a spray version of the Top Engine Cleaner available. Do you have a part# for the spray? I've only ever used the "pour in" type. The pour in is p/n 1050002. Please enlighten me.

you can use the pour-in type by putting a vacuum hose (manifold vacuum) in the can w/ a tee attached to it. it'll just suck it right up.

I've used it once. Seemed to get rid of my knock retard, FWIW. Any of the GM parts people should be able to get it/or have in stock.

Any Gm dealer, you want the spray style, if you want it to work the best it can than you want to remove all 8 spark plugs and spray into warmed up motor in plug holes, leave it in cylinders for as long as you can,4-6 hours is good, crank over motor to empty cylinders(watch the spray will shoot out every where) and than reinstall plugs, start it up and blast it out on hiway, than change your oil. Hope this helps.

My stupid question for the day, should I replace my original PCV valve after using the top end cleaner?

WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!!!! what is up with the 2 different ways of doing this???? Does it matter??? How much does this stuff cost??

It sounds like something good to do but someone says to crank the motor and spray it in the motor and someone else is saying to take the plugs out. Does it matter????

Damn I know I'm aggrevating but I need to know this before I do this1

If you spray into pcv with motor running and then let it sit, this is almost as good, it really depends on depth of your problem.

Are your plugs going to be fouled beyond belief after this? Should you replace the PCV after this as well?!?!
