I finally got the oil pump in today.
I pull it out of the box and begin to act like I am 5. I see the ring gear (for a lack of a better word) and began to moving it round and round. Then, it slipped off center a little bit. So I moved it back to center than looked up in it and saw that hte gears were not meshing right. Are they supposed to have some slack in there?
Any help would be appreciated. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like that. When I got mine I acted like a 5 year old, too. It did the same thing. Works fine.

Eric,
KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OF THAT!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
OK, OK, I did it too when I got my MMS pump. It'll be fine. It's not binding up though is it? When are you doing the install? Let us know how it goes. I have printed out jmx's install document but just havent got around to doing it yet.

As you turn the "ring gear" you see some teeth have gaps and some don't on the inside looking up through the pick up tube area.
BTW, were these things supposed to come with an o-ring?
Thanks guys, I thought I really did it for a second.

Boy's and their toys, you just can't stop playing with them eh?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
AS for the O-Ring, no you need to reuse the bright blue one that comes off of the old pick-up tube. You'll see it.

Just make sure the blue O-ring doesn't get pinched and crooked as it goes back together. You need to be sure it seats properly inside the pump. Get a good look at it before you start tightening the pickup tube bolt.

The oil pump is a gearotor type pump. The wobble is how the oil gets pumped through. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

It is a blueprinted oil pump that has been onced over so we don't have random failures and the pressure has been up'd a little. Just a little security.
