Default Cartek S2 w/ 218/224 @ 113 and MAC headers package...QUESTIONS...

Okay, I may be getting this package and have some important questions.
- What will I need for installation? I mean, anything extra, (I know springs and pushrods)
- Will I pass emissions in IL with this setup?
- What kind of times should I expect with this setup given mods in my sig. (ballpark, or from experience)
- Should I go with a bigger cam? Gains?
- If so, what would be the biggest split duration I could get away with emissions wise in IL?

The head and cam specs are on www.cartek.net

I will get my comp. programmed and a LS6 intake eventually.
I really need quick help on this.
Thanks!
Nick

Nick, I am also looking at this same package, but the cam and headers would be useless to me... With the Macs and Offroad Y, you can forget about passing emmisions testing... Im lucky here in OK, we dont have any, as of last year!

Anyways, personally, I would want a bigger cam, but then again, if you were to get these, and did that, you would have prolly even more trouble passing a sniffer....

Good luck to ya, im trying to get just the heads out of this thing...

Yeah, I would probably get either a cat Y or FLPs. That wouldn't be until later.

I know that my old 221/224//113 cam passed IM240 in WI.

Why the split duration, you plan to use a power adder?

The bigger you go the more you move up your power band.

I know my questions may be inferior, but I still would like SOME answers.

The cartech group tend to hang in the East Coast Section. Try posting over there and ask if anyone is running that combo.

If you're running a typical nitrous set up (150 shot or less), I'd up the intake duration at least 2, if not 4 degrees. In fact the TR 224 on a 114 would work fine.

I may use nitrous in the future.
What kind of times should I expect with traction? Mid 11s? High 11s?
