Default Ls1 Carb Guys Come On In!

Hey I am going to build a 383-408ci ls1 or ls2 block depending on the shortblock deals.

I am going to run Ls1 heads from my buddy that flowed 305cfm at .600lift. 11 to 1 comp R. Btw, how are you guys doing with 10.5 to 11 to 1 comp R on 93, I am only trying to run on 93...

Running the Victor Jr intake and msd package that came out in the last year or so. What goods and bads do you have about it...

I am going to run a cam with aleast 235/23X duration about .600lift not sure on the lsa due to the carb. Its not a daily and I ain't running power brakes so I ain't worried about the vacum really...

Anyone have any ideas of a cam that will give me around 500rwhp+ and what luck you guys have been tuning with the timing curves the msd box gives you, btw I will run a wideband to check the A/F.

This in going into a 63 chevy II, and I am not wanting to go fuel injectied and having to run all the harness etc.

Thanks so much,

Mark Tisdale

Fuel injection is for sissys like you Brian cause I will make more power, who cares about a daily driver, and I will not have to pay all this loot to schedule appointments for dyno times etc.

btw, did you get your car tuned yet or what, hows the idle...

Idles fine when it wants to... but getting it to catch an idle w/o tuning or drilling the TB is hard. I'm going to upload a base tune this week then get the dynotune on the 3rd.

I am interested in this as well, I will be going carb on my LS1 S10 setup. Much better choice going with the MSD over the Edelbrock programmer, the tuning capabilities on the MSD are far and away better than the Edelbrock unit.

You will be fine with 93. I am actually running sunoco 100 low lead (aviation) with marvel mystery oil for lubrication.

I am running that same setup. So far so good... The MSD-6010 comes with some nice software for tuning timing/revlimiter. If your laptop does not have a 9 pin, you will need a serial to usb adapter cable (about $35).

Once again, I have a nasty idle, revs fast and drives awesome so far. I am running about the same specs as that cam, slightly bigger.

Good luck bro! Sounds like a nice setup.

The package blows monkey *****... Buying them seperate is cheaper and you get a better MSD computer.

The edelbrock is a msd computer. BUT only has plug in timing modules/rev limits. The reason they bundle them together is the package comes with brackets to mount the map sensor and msd box on the intake. Funny thing is, buying seperate is cheaper and comes with harness that has enough extra cable to mount the msd box inside the car. I mounted mine on the inside of the firewall on the pass side and can plug my laptop up right there and sit in the car. MSD-6010 all the way. Good luck!

Thats is correct. If you buy the victor jr intake it comes with intake bolts, and even comes with 2 kickdown cable brackets for trans and throttle. The MSD-6010 comes with harness and even comes with the timing pills in-case you do not want to hook up your pc.

Specs on the ms4 cam = Magic Stick V.4 239/242, .649"/.609" Camshaft 110.9 lobe center

I should be around 11.7:1 or so.. give or take.. I hopefully will have the car completed in a few more weeks and have some dyno results and times.
