Results and Dyno Graph of my new ARE 436ci Stroker
I have had my car back from ARE now for a little over a week with the new 436ci Stroker and all I got to say is I cannot get this smile off of my face!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I was not sure how much different the results would be from my ARE Stage II heads/cam, but now after putting some miles on this thing, I truly understand why strokers are worth all the money! The Torque is just NUTS!! No matter how much throttle I give it in 1st or 2nd the tires just ignite!!
We built this thing for low and mid range power because I will be using it mostly for street driving, autocrossing and roadracing. There really was not any headers I wanted to switch to at the moment so I stuck with my TTS 1 5/8" long tubes for now. I was VERY suprised at the peak numbers this thing still made because I thought for sure these small header tubes would be robbing tons of power up top.
Here is the dyno chart:
<img src="http://www.exit28motorsports.com/matt/my436dyno.jpg" alt="" />
The car only has 2 preliminary dyno runs done on it at the moment. Nick and Wade set the A/F to be a bit rich for break-in and told me to put some miles on it and to come back for some final tuning. Also, as you can see, they shut the car down at just over 6000rpm on the dyno and it almost looks like the HP is still climbing.
Here is a comparison of the 436ci dyno vs my previous ARE Stage II heads/cam.

Awesome motor!! Grotts & true duals, X pipe, & you are at 500, for sure. Probably pretty close right now. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

How much did that motor set you back exactly? Im guessing its their aluminum blocked one or is it a iron block now?

What were you expecting from the setup Matt?
Questions:
-what exhaust setup past those TTS headers?
-what cam specs?
-LS1 or LS6 heads?
-what intake manifold?
-pulley?
-compression ratio?
-bore x stroke specs?
Without the details, its hard for us Techies to absorb completely <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Off-road Xpipe with no cats running into B&B Route66 Exhaust (rather restrictive/quiet mufflers)
240/240 .600/.600 114LSA Camshaft
ARE Stage 3 LS1 Heads with 2.08/1.60 Valves
LS6 Intake Manifold with ported 80mm BBK T-body
Underdrive Pulley
11.5 to 1 compression ratio
4.100" Bore x 4.125" Stroke
ARP Head Studs and custom ARE Main Studs
Stock Rockers with CompCams Hydraulic Lifters
Pricing for a long block would be around $14K depending on a few options

I don't get to the computer all day and look what I see when I do get on. That is simply awesome.....especially with LS1 heads. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I might have to call Nick and tell him I'm ready to get things moving after seeing that. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

I have not intention of littering your post or being a troll, and I too know the full story, I just gave my reaction. I do think the ARE 436 is impressive and congradulations on the set up. Sounds like an incredible, fun torque monster.
Enjoy

The torque never stops! Sweet! I cannot wait to see some times and hopefully get a ride on Sat at the Motown Muscle Meet & Greet.

Good one Matt, and to all those guys that said on other posts not to go this route, this combination of Matt's is undersquare!! That's right, more stroke then bore! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'll be at 11.5 CR also, and have a similar cam (244/244) but I opted for LS6 heads instead. This same cam and heads has pulled over 520+ rwhp in some 422ci motors. I wonder if I'll gain anything from the 12 cubes. Haha, probably not.
I think Matt will clear 500/500 with some break-in miles and maybe some tuning.

I want to see this bad boy run! Are you gonna take it to St.Thomas this weekend for the Motown Muscle day?
