Hehe, I bet you guys never imagined I would ever stop using Mobil 1 eh? But it's discouraging when a company reformulates and tells you it's better, while the experts who test it tell you otherwise.

Okay here goes :

First 555 miles ran factory oil ! Dumped it used mobil dino oil 5-30 ! Used no discernable amount of oil ! At 21000 miles I added a TNT F-1 wet kit and switched to M1 5-30 ! I now am a half quart low after 2500 miles and spraying 2 10 pound bottles or 28 12.2 runs !

I use M1 5-30 !

AC Delco PF-59 !

I live in New England so I get all the seasons car does not see the road in snow but does see the road when there is no snow and only cold temps !

I change it every 3000 miles religously !

Ok, I see some of you guys run 6 qts. Is that with the big oil filter ? Or do you just put 6 qts in it anyway ?

Since I read that about Mobil-1, I'm thinking about switching to Royal Purple 10w-30 . Anybody see any problems with me using 10w-30 in southern Virginia ?

Patman, if it does work out with Blackstone, I think you'll be very pleased. I've been using them for several years now and have always been happy with their work. Good luck.
Their website is www.blackstone-labs.com if anyone else is interested.

Many people believe the stock one is way too tiny, I've seen 4 cylinder engine's oil filters that are bigger than the PF44.

What's the difference between the AC Delco UPF 44 and the UPF 58. My dealer has the 44's in stock but I see everyone is using the UPF 58's.
