which cam for cam only car?
Ok guys, im pretty new to this whole cam thing. I have a 2001 TA WS6 M6 that im looking to go cam only with for the time being. This car isnt my daily driver, its a weekend car, taht will see occasional strip time. Im wanting a cam that is capable of putting me into mid 11's. Right now my car is stock, but will have LT's with Dynomax Bullet Mufflers hung from the collectors, LID, then of course SFC's, TQ Arm, Panhard bar, with a moser 12 bolt, with 3.73 gears. Anyhow, choices are the MS4, G5X4, or TRex

G5x4! LG cams always seem to produce good results.
All have good records, trex has best track record and probably the worst street manners... I tend to lean towards street myself.

Yes, street manners are important to me, but I think most of that can be tuned out. Also, I have talked to quite a few people, and everyone has a different opinion, kinda like GM or Ford. Anyhow, I dont think i can go wrong with any of the 3 above cams, so i will choose when the time comes. Thanks for the replys so far guys!

You say "Cam only" do you mean strictly Cam only, then perhaps the ones you suggested will be no good at all. Some of those cams have fast ramp rates and high lift which may be beyond the tolerance of the stock spings. If you are not changing the valvetrain at all it may be safter to go for a mild cam. If you are going dual gold springs with .650" max lift then you have a much wider choice of cams(the ones you suggested).

For street manners and big torque/power:
Comp XER 226°/232° 109° +2° (107° ICL). Great dynamic compression, no need to flycut, don't need to rev it to the moon (@6,400 rpm power peak).
That will get you real close to 400 rwhp AND 400 rwtq.

i totaly agree. the cams listed are more "strip" cams. i would also look into a custom set-up grind. it will give you the best of both worlds.
of the ones listed, i voted MS4.

With your gears I would run g5x3. Trex wants 433's or 455's or something. Its a weekend warrior so you can go big if you want but you need the gears to support the trex and pro'lly those other 3 as well. If your willing to change the gears then Trex FTW. Otherwise g5x3 234ish/242ish , 236/244 would be pushing it IMO with 373's.
