What HP increase to expect with this new cam??
Well it looks like a new cam will be my next mod.. Im thinking a 220/220 .561 lift 114LSA cam from thunder racing. Car is a M6
Will have stock heads for now but later on I will get either a REALLY nice set of stage 1's or some Stage II's..
I will never run long tubes.. will most likely stick with the shorties.. rest of my mods are in the sig <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Thanks in advance <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I sorta like the idea of staying smog leagal <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> After all I am in the smog **** state.. lol
The 2000 factory cam is tiny.. i just want something to wake it up a bit.. any other suggestions would be welcomed..
I know the JBA's cant touch long tubes.. but they have CARB #'s and are high quality.. Maybe at a future date I would switch to Bassani mids but like I said..

Steve, you girly man, I'm running my 227 cam with 1 7/8 grots with offroad pipe in the same darn state, heck even the same area as you, hehe. The TR cam is a good one, the B1 I think would give you a little more power and still be smog legal and it costs the same, just a thought. I would also add the LS6 intake manifold with the cam, you should see some good gains with that.

Re: What HP increase to expect with this new cam??
Yep, I'm there on the 11th. FWIW my car is running great with the cam with no custom tuning, I really need to raise the rev limiter, it's at 6600 rpm from the HPP3 but this thing will make power to 7000 rpm, I have a three codes right now and that may be costing me some HP too, but I want to get a good baseline and then go from there. I also want to see how much HP the Borla Oval Muffler will be costing me over an open exhaust.

Re: What HP increase to expect with this new cam??
We just finished installing the TR224/112 in a customer's car a month or so ago. The '98 Trans Am came in with a Whisper lid, GMAF, Hooker shorties/stock cat y-pipe, and a Borla catback. It baselined at 319rwhp. The only change was the TR224/112 cam with Comp 918 valvesprings, Comp 772 Ti. retainers, and the Comp 7.400" pushrods. This picked the car up 35rwhp!(354rwhp)
The car eventually came back for Hooker longtubes w/ a 3" y-pipe w/ random tech converters, LS6 intake, an ASP pulley, and a Thunder Racing ported TB. This picked the car up to 386rwhp.
I can post a dyno graph for those interested tomorrow.

Re: What HP increase to expect with this new cam??
The TR224 should still pass emissions if it is on a 114LSA and a decent cat is used <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks
