Valve Spring ? please help.
i have JPR S2 heads on the way. w/ a thunder cam. i currently have isky springs and titanium retainers. i was gona put 918's on. but now am thinking double springs. 4?
1. will the 918's work with the titanium retainers i already have?
2. will the retainers i have work with the comp cams double springs part #63-978-16.?
3. how much better are the 918's than the iskys?
4. how much better are the doubles?
thanks for the responces in advance.

In my opinion you won't need the double springs having read what I've read. I think you could successfully use the heavy duty slp valvesprings.. They are cheap to boot! Check the link.. They are good to .600 lift.

For starters, I have no clue what Iskys, but I can give you a little help with the other questions.
1. will the 918's work with the titanium retainers i already have?
If the Iskys were the a direct replacement for the stock then, yes. I recieved one of the first shipments of 918's that came with some seriously oversized retainers. I used them and they worked fine for 20k miles, until I went with a double setup.
2. will the retainers i have work with the comp cams double springs part #63-978-16.?
I doubt it. Remember though, with the double spring set-up you will most likely have to machine the spring seats in your heads to properly fit the spring. That, and you may end up machining your rockers as well... total pain.
3. how much better are the 918's than the iskys?
Like I said, I have no idea what iskys are, but I can tell you that the 918 is a great spring. I beat the absolute snot out of mine: highspeed runs, missed shifts, you name it. They held like a champ. You should have no problems running 918's and the thunder cam.
4. how much better are the doubles?
In my opinion, unless you are looking to upgrade to a monster cam, or plan on spinning the hell out of your motor, the double springs are an overkill. They look cool though
Good luck with the setup.

The 918's should be up to the task, max .625 lift, 7500 rpm. I have yet to hear of one breaking. I'm sure you will have good luck with them as well.
I run a double spring setup with my ARE Stg II H/C. Sure, it was a total pain to get it to work right.... had to clearance a bunch of stuff, but I enjoy the piece of mind. That, and my valvetrain won't be a limiting factor as I upgrade... which is done very often.

My bad. The 918 will not work with the older ARE Stg II H/C with the 11/32 valves (I should have read more careful). The newer packages have 5/16 stems.
In that case, if you were already running 941 springs, use the K Motion K-750 spring. They should be a direct replacement for the 941's.

All springs break
Even doubles. In fact, I am investigating a possible broken double right now.
