There are options other than MS4, G5x4......blablabla without having to resort to a plathera of supporting mods to come in the range of bigger cams without suffering the loss (should i say limiting) the loss of low to midrange trq.
Thank you for posting this graph, it only reinforces what i'm talking about.
Look at that TRQ curve by 2500 rpm
Take it from someone that has been around the block a few times, do not be wrapped up in peak number! BELOW the curve and how far the power is carried is more beneficial.
Ask yourself, why do 402/403/408 are so thought after. Trq, trq, trq

torque under the curve,... thats why I wanted the R/S cam, your only there for a split second at thevery start of drag race, I never road raced, it could make a difference exiting corners but I really don't know.

I used a 224/220 H/C with 11.23@ 121 in the 1/4.
BTW under the curve is below 5250rpm but you know that of course

thats why i started looking into the reverse split cams. from all the posts and searches it seemed that they were good NA cams and produce good under the curve. i wanted a cam that i can use to its full potential driving around on the street. the ms3, g5xx cams are bad ***. but i would never be able to use that power at all! there were some vids posted not too long ago, where there was a reverse split cam, i think it was the mti x1 pulling on bigger cams from a roll. so like what predator z has been saying bout the under the curve.

I agree, but you have to consider simply where you're pulling from. Of course I'd never try a 50mph roll in 4rd gear against a small cammed car. That'd be silly. But in 2nd gear at that speed, I'm in my curve as well. So it sounds more like the driver needs to have the sense to put the car in its powerband when it's time to race.

We've tested a ton of reverse splits and they work better than most people think, even on todays heads. You guy's can math out all you want but you'll be very surprised with the real world result's of stuff that is said not to work
Yes,I'm dangling the answers up high

So I think if I'm understanding this all correctly I've come up with the perfect cam for my daily driver 05 GTO. I'd been thinking about doing a reverse split cam on it too since I never plan to do anything more than a cam and headers on this car (the ZO6 would get way too jealous of me not spending money on it).. Plugging away into the calculator I came up with a 230(XFI lobed) / 228 (XER lobed) reverse split cam on a LSA of 110 +0 .. Overlap of 9 which should be fine to drive daily (even in the snow we had this week in Michigan).. Valve events seem to be good from what I know - should this cam make plenty of power (mainly street torque) for me up to a redline of 6500 or so?

If i can be supplied some seat to seat durations for Predators suggestions - it would make it interesting to run them in Pro Dyno Sim Software.
Im looking for some more lower rpm cams. I am sold on small cams - my own car with a 216 220 525 114 Comp cam has run 11.36/119.5mph at 3575lbs. So you can make good power from small cams with the right supporting extras Mamo Fast 90mm, 1"7/8 long tubes, 3" metal cats, Ported stock LS1 heads at 10.7:1. I am about to make this baby cam run 11.0/122mph.
The Texas Speed 220 220 on 112 is a brilliant cam in my books. It i believe would outperform mine with the same extras. But im interested in other ideas.

TR230/224 111+4 LSA
or
Custom XE-R
228/226 .588/.585 108-1 (108 LSA/109 ICL)
Both should give you ~10.9:1 SCR and 8.5 DCR
Or my favorite (XFI-XE-R)
230/228 .612/.588 110-1 (110 LSA/111 ICL)
All of these will kick the 224 right in the *** both in trq and Hp output.
