Default Dyno results from new MTI "X1" Cam - 445 RWHP, 404.1 RWTQ!

After swapping out my heads for a set of MTI LS6 Stage II's, my dyno numbers came back a little lower than what I was looking for (415 RWHP and 387.1 RWHP) so Jayson suggested that I try out their new "X1" in place of the "T1" I was currently running to see what would happen. This is the first install for that cam so neither he nor anyone else (including me) knew what to expect.

With Stage II heads, Hooker long tubes, Borla XR-1, stock driveshaft, stock rear end (3.73s) and the stock clutch, the car pulled 445 RWHP/404.1 RWTQ! That's a 30 RWHP gain over my T1! The car idles great (900), with little or no surge and runs like a scalded cat! These numbers are also SAE corrected in 90 degree Houston weather.

Timing was conservative at 24-26 degrees as I'm going to be occassionally running a 100 dry shot on top of the setup and wanted to be as safe as possible. With a little more timing, 450 RWHP would have been easily attainable!

As to the specs on the cam, I hate to dissapoint everyone but I just don't know. This was a prototype that Jayson wanted to try out and I agreed to let my car be the "test mule" without him being final on the exact specs, but after talking with him I'm pretty sure that all the details will be forthcoming very soon.

Many thanks to Jayson, Jeff and Mike for their work and extra effort on putting this package together. Can't wait to hit the track with this combo!

It won't be one of those "mystery cams". When I get the specs via email I'll post them. The cam will also be listed on the new MTI website being constructed at the moment.

Congrats on the numbers! I didn't realize that was your car LOL.

I wanna see the before/after graphs too.

I'm tempted to pull out this B1 cam, but I need some convincing! If MTI is listening, I'll be a test mule C5 dangit! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Thanks for all the good wishes. I was just out running around and couldn't get this ear-to-ear grin off my face everytime I stood on it!

Terry, don't know what the "X" stands for. I was hoping that Jason might christen it the "D1", but so far no love on the naming rights issue!

It stands for Terry Burger is a "X" member of the ls1tech forum.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> or Terry Burger needs to swap cams and join the "X" Clan... <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Now, Thats what the Hell I'm talking about!!! 30 more RWH over the T1 and maintaining an excellent RPM peaks!! Thats what it's all about, That kind of power = ET!!! When those cams are available, I will be buying them.
Joe.

Leo - Love em, with the custom y-pipe and the XR-1 it sounds badass (but draws a little too much attention from Houston's finest!)

Thanks for the compliments on the numbers everyone!

Man that sounds like a killer set up.

I am looking forward to the specs.

I wonder how it would do in a max effort A4? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Hey John, Scott and I are coming after you. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Run any decent times lately with the new rear end?
