Default Solid roller people with in

Well for my new motor I think I am going solid roller, I have a few questions.

What is your cam specs? (if you dont mind)
What did you dyno? (And what is your displacment)
What rockers?
How offten do you have to adjust them?
Is there any more wear then with a hydro?

It would be a good idea to check them a little more often, like at every oil change.

Other than that, I wouldn't expect any other valvetrain components to last a shorter time.

There's a fairly large intial setup cost for a solid roller setup, but it can be worthwhile, depending on what you're looking to achieve. A solid roller usually has better driveability due to the highly accelerated cam lobes, which effectively reduces overlap.

It all depends on how radical you want to go... With a big cid engine like a 422, you can still run a "smallish" cam and make great power without sacrificing any driveability, or you can run a bigger cam and make more power. It just depends on what kind of rpms you plan on turning and what you're willing to live with. Your engine builder would probably be the best one to recommend a camshaft, as he should be familiar with the flow characteristics of the heads.

Just look at the awesome power that Nineball's 434cid MTI powerplant is putting out with a smallish (for that kind of displacement) hydraulic cam...

5000 miles? That's every 2 months at most! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

I was just about to ask about the adjustment interval myself... I guess I'll stick with hydraulic rollers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Justin,
Allan has the dyno graph somewhere at his shop.
I'll have to get him to find it, then I can post it.

Gordon,

WOW!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Awesome numbers! Would you mind either emailing me or sending me a PM on what your setup cost you? Also, which tuner did you go with for these mods?

I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
