...through a 12 bolt w/ 4.10s, Denny's steel driveshaft, 17x11 wheels, and a dirty air filter.
395.4 hp 381.1 tq
Not bad for a 'lil 224 cam that is perfectly streetable. It drives like the stocker - with a nice lope.
We tried pulling the exhaust off and putting 18" header extensions on and lost power and torque across the graph. At least I won't have to deal with pulling my exhaust off when I go to the track.
Another satisfied MTI customer!

Nice #`s Onyx! What`s the specs on that bump stick and did it come as a kit (springs, locks, retainers, etc.) or did you just buy the cam?

MTI C2 cam -
224 224 .581 .581 112
I went with the kit that included the cam, comp 918 springs, and chromoly pushrods.

Onyx,
Very very nice on stock heads ! You got me stoked pal, I've been thinking about just doing a cam this winter and was looking at either a C1/C2 or Thunder 224/224 on a 112.
That graph looks nice, TQ looked a little peaky and dropped off quicker than I would expect but the HP seemed to really hold on nice through the top ! I wonder how the cam would have done on stock exhaust manifolds. Do you have any longevity concerns with the extra lift of the C2, personally I'm leaning a bit more towards the C1 for my application.
Regards,
Mitch R.

I have pretty much all of the bolt ons.
As my license plate says -
Performance Enhanced by Motorsport Technologies
(Jayson would probably rather just have that on the 422 cars) lol
Anyways the power mods are...
c2 cam, ls6 intake, ls1 edit, longtubes, x-pipe w/ bullets, lid, ported tb, pulley, maf ends
I am not worried about the lift at all, and you would be even better with the new Manley springs MTI sells that can handle more lift. I am using the comp 26918s with no worries, but I would have gone with the Manleys if they were around when my cam went in, Jayson thinks they will hold up a little better.
The torque isn't too peaky. It's well above 350 until almost 6k, and it is at it's peak right about were my revs drop to on a 6k dump. Check out how flat the power peak is in the upper RPMs.
I don't think this cam (most cams) perform well with stock exhaust manifolds, go ahead and get some FLPs and you'll be set.

onyx: how does the car act on street? and how much was the estimated total price for everything?
did you have to get anything else for the cam install? or just slap the kit on

great results Justin! Our cams are identical w/ the exception of the amount of advance ground in. I agree that these 224 XE-R cams make some GREAT power! It's easy to see why I'm shifting at 6,800. Mine holds power very well, too. Mine peaks right at 6,550 and just holds the power past that. I drop right at 5 RWHP from the peak to 6,900 RPM! How much timing are you running at WOT? We'll have to run each other sometime; it would make for some GREAT video so long as you keep the bottle turned off!

Awesome numbers MTI is really on a roll!
Ready to put a cage in the car or what?

I am running the T1 cam currently. What is the difference in the C2 and T1 other than the obvious, lift and "advertised duration at 0.050.
More sprecifically is the C2 just that much more aggressive than the T1.
Just trying to figure out how all you guys are pulling these great numbers w/ stock heads.
Is it mostly in these agressive ramped cams or tuning or both?

98TAauto, the cam is suprisingly streetable. even through my no cats w/ bullet mufflers exhaust. give MTI a call at 281 870 8787 to order and set a install date. they will set you up with everything.
Trevor, we definitely need to race sometime! Come down to HRP before I slap some MTI heads on this beast.
WS6 Girl, one step ahead of you. My crazy *** had the cage in when the motor was internally stock.
Speed Demon, the difference is a combination of everything you mentioned. More agressive lobes with higher lift and more duration.

Nice pull Onyx. I ordered my MTI LS6 heads with a X1 cam 2 weeks ago. They should get to me by August. I am going to be interested to see what kind of numbers that combo puts up.
for stock heads, those are some killer numbers
