Default TR 224/227 112 goes in tomorrow.....

Well, finally after all this waiting, it gets installed tomorrow along with Comp pushrods, 918 springs, and new timing set. I am really excited after hearing NastyC5's 224/224 on a 112 lope like a **** !! The guy doing the install said he didnt want to do it without the new timing set, but the guys at TR never mentioned replacing it when I ordered the cam. You think I need to replace it? The car has 16,000 miles on it.
Thanks

You'll love the lope man. It's so bad *** You'll gain even more with that reverse split, also

And, yes, please replace your timing chain with a stronger chain, JWIS one from Katech or a new stock chain. I would HIGHLY suggest the JWIS one. It'd be a shame to snap a chain and bend some valves

I did order a new stock chain and gears from my local GM parts dept. It was only like $85 for the 2 sprockets and chain, cheap insurance I guess. The only reason I didnt order one in the first place is that when I looked at the after market ones originally, I was seeing some in the $300 dollar range, and I thought that was a bit rediculous.

I also took a video with sound of how my car sounds now (stock), and I will take one after the cam. If I can, I will try and post the 2 videos for you guys.

Also, NastyC5, I am also gonna remove my cats and have a true dual setup put on once I get my headers. Im almost scared that maybe I went to big after hearing how bad your 224/224 lopes!

Good deal, however you'd have been just fine by ordering the JWIS chain from HME for $95 and using the same gears. A timing set is not necessary . Your setup is gonna rock, especially with true duals. Keep us posted.

Damn, I wish I would have known that....... I would have much rather of went that route. Oh well, guess ya live and learn. Do you think I will have problems with a stock setup in the future ? I only drive the car about 5000 miles a year or less.

224/227 is a traditional split grind right?? Reverse is more intake, I think. I'm thinking about doing 230/224 reverse split.
