Default Cartek 422 A4 C5 dyno results

We finished dynoing our cast iron 422 nitrous motor on a 98 A4 C5 with 3.42s today and it made 502 RWHP and 474 RWTQ SAE through the mufflers.

Here is a link to the dyno sheet--->422 dyno run

Here are some specifications.

4.125" stroke
4.030" bore
11.5/1 cr.
Hydraulic roller 234-242 110 LSA .610 lift.
Cartek Stage 3 LS6 heads.
ported LS6 intake.
FLP headers
Mufflex custom exhaust.

The motor was built for a 300+ nitrous system but it hasn't been installed on the car yet, it will be running NA at E-town this Saturday at the Cartek Corvette Challenge.

Good numbers Julio, and that is a very interesting camshaft! I figured you would go with a wider LSA for a nitrous-purpose motor. Why the 110 LSA? Testing purposes?

Mike, NoMercy has the same 244/244 camshaft that I do, and you heard how quiet my car is through the muffler. The "monster" level highly depends on exhaust setups, and his was LOUD

very nice #'s! I'm impressed considering the smaller bore and longer stroke. Are these locked or unlocked #'s, and what converter is in the car?

Very nce results Julio. Glad to see you didn't play the "secret squirrel" with the tech info this time

Got a chance to ride in Bill Walters car (NoMercy) right before I left Hawaii. Tha thing is a monster for sure. The idle is killer, but the car didn't idle very well when inopen loop or cold. He had to wat for the temp torise before it would idle well. Nevertheless, it is a monster

How much HP do you lose w/ the converter unlocked? I've been curious to see if the Vig multi-disk converters eat more HP than the singles.

Good luck this weekend with the car! It ought to click off easy 10's.

PSJ didn't do well in his comprehension classes in elementary school. LOL!

(see title of thread and link to dyno graph in first post)

Mike TexaSS, it idles at 950 and has a nice deep lopey sound.

Nine Ball, the 234-242 with 110 LSA is a fairly mild cam (it won't bleed off much cylinder pressure) and will work well with a 300 shot. If I was using a 250-260 duration cam or a 400-500 nitrous system I would use a 112-114 LSA.

Trevor D, that was locked with PI (Vig multi disk) 3,600 stall.

Pro Stock John, it's an A4 car and peaks at 6,200.

Julio
