GTP LS6 heads or MTI LS6 heads?

GTP LS6 heads or MTI LS6 heads?
i will begin doing a 434 LS1 stroker after 3 to 4 months and since the heads are the most important thing in making power (beside the cam) who is better in porting the heads GTP or MTI?, those will be stage 3 ported LS6 heads.

Come on Abdullah, you should know better than to ask such a vague question like this, you've been around these message boards far too long to ask newbie level questions.
How many people have GTP Stage 3 LS6 heads out there? I've never seen anyone post about them.
Just curious.

I'd call both shops and get all of the info on both sets of heads. Both shops produce excellent heads, so if it were me, I'd just go with the set that I could get cheaper. While we've never seen a set of GTP stage 3 LS6 heads on this board, I'm sure they can do a fantastic job considering their #'s from the stage 2's. JMO

I wont comment on the head choice issue but I will make a couple of comments <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
You have access to 98+ octane full time there right?
I would go high on the compression (13:1) and run a big *** cam
LS6 intake, stepped headers, dual 3 inch cutouts a good catback exhaust.
Man you will make some SICK power <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
You like high speed racing too right? I would get a higher capacity rad as well...
With 98+ octane, big cam and lots of revs you should hit anywhere between 510-540RWHP with a good set of LS6 heads.
Best of Luck!
Chris

Go with MTI stage 3 LS6 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

eeny meeny miney moe........... They are BOTH outstanding companies. This will be mostly a matter of preference, therefore; you will hear several suggestions. Like someone else mentioned. Give them both a call and find out what they can offer you.
Even then, it will be a toss up.
Good luck.
BTW: you can always buy me a set of each to try out and I will let you know which I like better so you will know which ones to buy <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" />

Oops, I thought this was our old buddy Abdulla from Kuwait. Funny how similar the names are and how they used their names for screen names and are both from Kuwait.
My MTI Stage 3 LS6 heads seem to work okay <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Give both shops a call and talk with them in detail. I think that this will be most important for help with your decision. I asked this question a few years ago on the boards and only after I talked with both shops, I felt comfortable with my choice.
I would go with GTP, with as many 346 ci cars in the 10's with stage 2 heads and cam, you can't go wrong.
Good Luck

Re: GTP LS6 heads or MTI LS6 heads?
Just FYI, here are some cars with proven MTI Stage 3 LS6 heads:
SW's 9.7 second 422ci + nitrous (vette)
Colonel's 9.8 second All-Motor 422ci
Stacy Barnett's 9.9 second 422ci + nitrous (vette)
Bill Walters' 9.9 second 422ci + nitrous (vette)
PaiN's 10.4 second all-motor 422ci
My 10.6 second all-motor 434ci (heaviest car here)
All these cars have the same heads.

Re: GTP LS6 heads or MTI LS6 heads?
This question is a really touchy one but from what I know is both MTI and GTP have proven their work, and as far as GTP and LS6 Heads, he has done quite a bit and has done the C5R stuff too and he does it @ GTP and never sends anything out. MTI on the other hand, I don't know if they actually do the port work their or sends them to another place...I do know that porting heads is Craig's (GTP's) bread and butter. I have a set of stage II heads and have made my money back 10 times over on street races... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Both places are very good!!!! Hard decision to make but I like GTP stuff.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
