Pulled Hot Cam out
My only guess is that the hot cam is ground wrong... don't think it is worth the money to find out and i do not know anyone with a cam doctor. or the car just really hated the hotcam...
it still burns oil..so it seems that the damage is already done, but the power is back and feels stronger than ever.
just so you know, alittle background. i installed the gm hot cam and mac headers on a car with a couplke of bolt ons.... i saw no gain at all at the track...identical mph...but the car never feel "normal"
now it is a bolt on car with mac headers...will find out the "real" gains this weekend for sure at the track.
I assume youve never even touched the tuning?

The car should still pick up even without tuning. We wont ever know what was wrong because he doesnt want to spend the money to find out which I dont blame him for.Its time to move on to something different now.
i fought with the hot cam for so long that i am happy it is out, the car feels very good now, it hasn't in a long time. as for tuning, Wizkid and i tried everything and according to ATAP, the car was running to the best of the computer's abilties with the help of a MAFT. The power was just not there, amazingly it never showed any kind of problems or misfires while running.
I will consider another cam in the future, i am really hoping that this particular cam was just defective. Of course that will be after i re-ring it, for what ever reason. with the cam in it, the rings started pulling oil thru them.... and it seems the damamge is already done...
I pulled the cam and went back to "stock" settings and saw a real gain! Something was not right with the Hot Cam. I will get with Eric again and retune for the headers only, and hopefully see even more of a gain.
the biggest problem i had with the hotcam other than smoking was the fact that no matter what i did...mod and tuning wise, the car never picked up from it
pull the cam and put the stocker in and it was a night and day difference! I just wish that i would have done it sooner, alot of energy was spent on trying to make the cam work, THanks to all of those who helped. It really tried my witts
i came very close to putting the stocker back in when i realized every detail of the install was correct. I decided not to and start to see alternatives for a cure to my problems. i never did find that cure
