Im new at and need help with storing my car...
I live in Florida so I have never really had to store my car for anything such as winter. But im about to go away for the summer for about six weeks! I can store it (another words, keep it untouched in my garage) or have a neighbor tear it apart, or i mean, start/drive it. What would you choose?
So for SIX weeks what do i have to do to avoid any problems that arise from storing a car? ?
For six weeks you don't need to do anything elaborate. Just drive it on a good long trip to heat up the oil and burn off moisture, then top off the tank and park the car. No need to start the engine during that time, and do you really want your neighbor driving it anyways??

No thats what i was saying sarcastically...But i mean, i know how people talk about inflating there tires to prevent flat spost, draining fluids and what not.
So just let it sit for 6 weeks with a full tank?...and whats the full tank for again? i remember reading about this

As far as disconnecting the battery, i did this for one day, but the computer will have a bad idle for the first start when i get back wont it?
And what is gas stabilizer? Do i absolutely need it?
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
1. Clean the exterior prior to storage.
2. Store it with new or almost new engine oil.
3. Dump some gas stabilizer in the gas.
4. Inflate tires to 40 psi
5. Drive it around to get it up to operating temp and mix the fuel stabilizer throughout the system.
6. Park it in a closed garage if posible
7. Unhook battery
8. Put a car cover on it
Thats it... It can sit like that for over a year (mine has on 2 occasions).
Like Patman said.... You dont need anyone starting it or driving it around the block. All that will do is introduce lots of moisture in the exhaust system, crankcase, etc
