Default Agostino Racing Engines - Great Customer Service - Please Read

I wanted to thank Nick at ARE for all the help with my engine. Here is the story:

I purchased some ARE heads (see signature for other mods) about 15 months ago and recently broke a 941 valvespring. Since my ARE heads have the 2.08 1.60 valves with 11/32" stems, the Comp Cams 918 springs would not work. I decided to upgrade to double springs so I sent the heads to Nick for the machine work. Nick said he would take care of the labor and only charge me for the parts.

I am having some power issues with my car and since everything was apart, I decided to try everything I could to squeeze more power out of it. My previous dyno runs were 387rwhp/369rwtq at one dyno. I also put down (after 4.10 gear install) 383rwhp/365rwtq at another dyno. I did not track test the car though.

I am upgrading to a larger cam (226/226 .591/.591 112). Even though my stock clutch is not slipping yet I am having a new clutch put in (McLeoud). Once everything is back together I am going to have ED Wright's tuning erased and have custom tuning done using LS1 Edit on the dyno.

When Nick received the heads & heard about my power problems, he told me that ARE has a newer head design out and that he would be willing to send me a new set of heads at NO COST !! We spoke for about 30 minutes on the phone and Nick was very helpful. Nick said that he wants happy customers and since I was trying to squeeze more power out of my car, and the heads were off already, that it would be a good upgrade.

I could not believe Nick did this. This is the best customer service I have ever had.

The new heads will have 2.05 1.57 valves and should arrive next week. I will post dyno and track times when the car is back together.

Thanks again ARE!!

Nick is out there to go fast, he's not out there to just make money.

He's also loyal to the core, he will stand by you and always be there.

I am an ARE man.

We are upsizing to some 11.7:1 LS6 heads right now to make my 10.8:1 tank a wee bit faster.

Yep, Nick is a great guy to deal with.

Nick if you read this, why don't you do ahead and upgrade my heads to the C5R design for free. I'm just after a few more horsepower.

ARE is as good as it gets when it comes to taking care of his own. I have been very happy with their customer service, and most of all their product.

ARE H/C and other 'stuff'

Nick sent me the 2.05/1.57 LS6 head package, a much stronger cam, install parts, etc. in exchange for my prior setup back. Only cost to me, install at my end. Gained 40 odd HP without acquiring major drivability issues. PCM tuning in progress, but I expect great things from this setup.

Nick and ARE have been absolutely stand-up. Modding high performance cars always has unexpected dilemmas. With Nick's support, they can be fixed and good outcomes achieved. I'm with them all the way: my planned next project, an ARE Big Block.

Man that is great. I can say nothing but great things about ARE and the way they have treated me. Right now Im in the process or redoing my 383 LQ4 setup. Let me just say that Nick didnt leave me out in the cold when he could have. I am very greatful at his generosity and it really shows that he cares about going fast and having a good product. I am an ARE man as well

I'm not surprised at all. Nick, Barry, Wade, and the rest of the crew up there have always done right by me. Sometimes they get a little behind the power curve, but they always do their very best. That's all you can ask

I did get my core $$ back, after a few calls and a few emails. Now, if I could just get someone to answer my cam questions.. I expected more power than I got & trying to figure it out, but no answers

I talked to Nick last week about my setup. He offered, totally free of charge, to replace my cam (and retainers) and tune it on the dyno if I wasn't happy with my current one.

It dynoed 376/363 at the Superfest, which isn't bad, and runs great as far as I'm concerned. I don't think it's worth the drive and time to have another cam put in to gain a couple extra hp.

You can't say Nick doesn't stand behind his products!!

At signifigant cost to himself, Nick sent me his newest setup for ZO6 heads and cam as well as install pieces and so forth. Also sent a racing oil pump which I decided to put in as I was there anyway. Then Ed Wright, who did my tuning, pitched in to help dial in the new setup.

First dyno run results are in my sig.

Bottom line is, I think these guys are great!! In a world of poor customer service, they certainly stepped up to the plate. I am greatly appreciative; this is certainly the right way to do business.

I know there are many other good folks in this LS1/6 community of ours. As members, we should do business with those who treat us well and stand behind their work. Likewise, we should shun those who don't.

I had some trepidation about approaching Nick about all this when I was disappointed with my initial results. He was gracious to a fault, and the outcome now couldn't be better.

Thanks!!!
