Default Lunati Cams: 216/226???

Any feedback on this Cam is appreciated.
I was told this is a terrific upgrade for the
LS1, and will pass Smog test.
How much power will this Cam give my car:
(2001-SLP-SS w/quad-quad SLP-airbox)

Thanks!

Sounds similar to mine. I'm very happy with it. Went back to this cam after trying a 224/224. Better low and mid power with good top end too.

A cam is a good upgrade but picking the right one requires knowing your goals and plans for future mods. a smaller split would be my recommendation and if headers are in your future, a single pattern would be fine.

Thanks for the input guys.
My plans for the future do not include anymore
motor upgrades. In this case is this the right
cam numbers, or should I still consider less split?

Unless you're doing headers of some sort, your money is best spent elsewhere.

A smaller split will improve drivabilty.

A 220/224 114 with 2 or 4 degrees of advance on comp XE lobes will perform better than the lunati and drivability will be pretty similar. It should pass emissions too. Another popular choice is a 216/220 114 with 4 degrees of advance on comp XE lobes. This will not be as strong on the top end as the 220/224 cam but the low end will be a bit stronger. It is emissions friendly.

Ragtop 99:

Agree. This Lunati is one of my old cams. If I was buying a new grind it'd be a Comp w/XE lobes.

MellowYellow: Why did you leave the 224/224 cam? Which one did you have and what was the LSA?

I have the SLP 214/222 LSA 115 and I just got the 224/224 LSA 112 from TR that I am going to put in.
