Re: What's the highest RWHP with stock exhstmaniflds.
If you're trying to justify not spending the money on headers, then shame on you. But, headers usally come after some mid-range bolt ons (and before h/c, but sometimes not). You'll probably start wanting headers once you're putting out 330-350rwhp to start taking full use of the other bolt ons. But headers will also help you get to 350rwhp with less bolt ons, so..
If you're just odd, you could probably get up to 400+rwhp NA with the stock manifolds... but it doesnt make any sense (and wouldn't work too long). More air in, means more air out, and you want it out as fast as posible.
Going for max HP on stock manifolds is a bad idea. Its like going for the max shot of NO2 on a stock engine (the same stuff wont break, but its a similar idea). I could be wrong, because I'm still learning. So someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Now I sleep.

Re: What's the highest RWHP with stock exhstmaniflds.
Well....Actually not odd but I think Smart. Ive got almost 3 years left on the warranty, and my dealer said headers would void the warranty.
So...If I purchased the GM Z06 heads for $1,300 add the GM Zo6 550 lift cam($250) or a MMS 560 cam added a added a lid ( which can easily be removed) and a SLP cat back exhausts( wich will not void warranty) wouldn't this be like having your cake and eating it too! 360 RWHP, Full GM warranty and All! No rough idle No need for Stall etc..
That's why I'm asking what's the highest anyone out there has on stock exhaust manifolds. Anybody?...................

Re: What's the highest RWHP with stock exhstmaniflds.
My camaro made 362rwhp through 100% stock exhaust with heads/218-224cam/pulley. Added 2001 intake manifold and some macs with no cats, and a cutout, it it picked up 53rwhp.
Now, I have a C5, and once again, 100% stock exhaust, and it made 363rwhp with heads/B1 cam/2001 intake. I still have to do the pulley so we'll see if 370 is possible. The thing is, with the stock exhaust, the car sounds bone stock. Very stealthy. Still cant wait for headers tho

As to the headers voiding the warannty, my dealer was fine with headers and actually suggested if I did headers to be sure and get coated ones. This same dealer said they would void the warranty if the engine was cracked open for head or cam.
Might want to think about a shop like MTI that offers a written warranty of heads and cam package if they install it.

Warranty...You don't need no stinkin Warranty!
I had a lid, shifter, pullies, 4.10's and Mac headers on my car all within the 1st 3,000 miles. But I had no intentions of keeping, nor did I give a **** about the Warranty. But you do what you feel is right. If you want to keep your Warranty, then don't put headers on.

Re: What's the highest RWHP with stock exhstmaniflds.
RickZZ, My car is a 2001 Z28, m6, i have 372hp and 360torque with stock manifolds and programming. This is a list of my mods;Lid, FRA, home ported MAF ends, home ported T.B. with wot mod and epoxy, maf translator, home ported(nice flow increase, stock valves)Heads, raised compression to 10.7 to 1 thru milling,CC custom grind .578"/.578" lift, 220*/220* duration on a 112* LSA cam, 918 springs, CC pushrods,GM Rapidfire plugs, ported stock exh. manifolds, hollowed cats and stock y- pipe, Flowmaster 3" cat back exhaust, poor mans 160* thermo.,poor mans Top Secret o2 simulators,B+M Ripper shifter, and thats about it. Before dyno test and tweaking i have gone 12.45 at 112.60mph with a 1.87 60 foot time on hoosier DOT tires. This is with no power shifts and stock 6200 rev limit.I am pretty happy for the money i have spent thus far, but i think full length headers are my ticket to 400 rwhp.I believe in fall weather i have 12.0 at 115 mph in this car, with out programming or headers$$$$
I hope this is helpful info for do it your self types out there. Also my total investment in all of this is $1400, with some carefull shopping and bartering this can be duplicated, of coarse you have to be a competent head porter, and an induction specialist with access to flow bench equipment. How much is a new hi 12 second 03 Cobra cost?$33,000? No thanks.

Re: What's the highest RWHP with stock exhstmaniflds.
lots of nitrous guys can do over 400 with stock heads and cam for example my friend did 417 stock manifolds on a 100 tnt shot. stock heads/camintake on a 98
other than that, harlan did 578 rear wheel on slightly modified stock 2000+ manifolds. gotta love that FI

Re: What's the highest RWHP with stock exhstmaniflds.
So is 367rwhp the highest number in here N/A on a 346 with stock manifolds and cats?
I was hoping to hit 370rwhp myself.

Re: What's the highest RWHP with stock exhstmaniflds.
Sometimes it isn't about the warranty either. It will be a cold day in hell before I let those hacks at the GM dealership do work on my car, yet I have to get e-checked every year in this god-forsaken state! They don't pass you if you are missing your cats...
