im also using a full synthetic 0-30 oil too. Im sure if i was using a thicker dino oil it would have made better compression...i would think the thicker oil would help the rings make a better seal.

your compression readings will be different than a stock #'s because of your cam and your mileage. you are with in 3-4% so you are good to go there as stated. bearings could possibly be a problem but if you have good oil pressure and keep oil changed on a regualar basis then id say go with it. FWIW i have a 148K almost and drive it like its stolen. she is starting to puff some oil on decel so i am assuming its rings cause i have new heads( less than 7k) on them so its not valve guide seals. good enough of a reason to do a 370

So i take it if im not burning any oil, and getting good compression, I have the green light to buy some nice flowing heads instead of a new shortblock.
Not burning oil=bearings are in decent shape
good compression=good effciency(sp?)
I change my oil every 2K miles, and up keep my fluids and buy nothing but the best fluids, etc.
I guess im ready for some nice heads, and tires...what do yall think?
