Lucas vs. Bosch Injectors??

Lucas vs. Bosch Injectors??
If pricing was the same, any reason to choose Lucas/Delphi injectors vs. SVO/Bosch injectors?
I'm leaning towards the Lucas ones due to pricing.
Thx!

Either way I'm going 42#.
Thx!

Re: Lucas vs. Bosch Injectors??
Mello: I've got 36# Lucas injectors, blueprinted and matched, from RC Engineering (Russ Collins, who also built my NSX World Cup car intake and injectors). They've been on the car for a year with no problems. Ed Wright had no trouble tuning my car with these in place.
Hope this helps.

Re: Lucas vs. Bosch Injectors??
I have heard that the Bosch injectors tend to have a better spray pattern then the Lucas injectors.
The better spray pattern results in better part-throttle performance...at WOT the spray pattern in less of a factor.
The MSD injectors are supposed to be somewhere in between the Bosch and the Lucas' in terms of spray pattern atomization.

Re: Lucas vs. Bosch Injectors??
I'm with you on the spray pattern being the main difference I guess.
But I thought Delphi/GM was using Lucas injectors and that the 42# Lucas I'm looking at are Lucas/Dephi. Shouldn't they have a spray pattern closer to OEM?
Who makes our OEM's?

Re: Lucas vs. Bosch Injectors??
Different style injectors. SVO/Bosch(MSD/Holley/Accell) are pintle style injectors, while the Lucas injectors are a plate style. The biggest difference is inertia of the mechanism. The pintle injectors have a much higher inertia than the Lucas style injectors. This gives them a slower response time and can make them difficult to tune for idle with large injectors on a stockish car. The plate style injectors are also more stable approaching 100% duty cycle; most pintle injectors develop erratic pulse widths and the spray pattern deteriorates quickly as they approach 100% duty.
I am planning a bog dry shot, so the better possiblilty of tuning large injectors for idle on a mostly stock mill is a draw for me. If price is the same, get the lucas units

Re: Lucas vs. Bosch Injectors??
For the reasons that Chris pointed out the Lucas injectors are superior. I use flow matched 42.5# injectors...soon to be using 72# injectors though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
